Chapter 3

Kate's POV
I was going to sleep in today I thought as my phone rang at 5:30 in the morning.

"Beckett" I answered.

"OK I'll be there is twenty."

There was a murder, after last night with Castle I felt like a train hit me. No amount of coffee would help me, unless Castle made it for me. I could never make it like him.

Well now I had to go do my job and pretend I wasn't with him anymore, this was really getting old, I just wanted to catch loksat and be able to get back to my life. This was taking over my life.

I showed up at the crime scene 20 minutes later. "Who's the victim?" I asked Esposito.

"Young female blonde, mid twenties, very fit, healthy" he informed me."

"Who is she?" I asked.

"Miranda Billings, 19 years old, works as a grocery store clerk"

I walked up to where the body was, it was on the side of a pond in a golf course. She had been in the pond.

"Any idea what she might've been doing here?" I ask.

"No, roommate says hasn't been in for days, she said she thought she was staying with her boyfriend " Esposito told me.

"OK, see if you can track down this boyfriend" I told him.

"Cause of death?" I asked Lanie

"Strangulation and blows to the head. I say she's probably been I'm there for about 3 days based on livitity and temperature"

"Okay, well keep me posted"

"Sure thing"
