Castle's POV
That was strange. Something was up and it wasn't about loksat. Kate was acting all strange and cautious. Like not wanting wine, we always have wine. And leaving early, she never did that. Then there was the way mother looked at her, she could tell something was going on. Just like she did the first time we were together. Well maybe I would ask mother if she noticed, but in the morning.

Kate's POV
I woke up around 7:45am and checked my phone. That's weird, usually Ryan or Espo would have sent me an update. Maybe they were giving me time since they knew I wasn't feeling well. If only they knew.
I didn't really feel like getting up so I decided yo stay in bed a bit longer. I fell back asleep and woke up. My clock said 10:00 and I jumped out of bed. I couldn't really be late to my own precinct but I shouldn't be this late. I looked at my phone. There were a dozen missed calls and messages.
Esposito: why aren't you at the precinct, we have good news about the ballet teacher
Lanie: Girl, are you okay?
I would have to respond to them later. Right now I had to get to the precinct. I don't know why know why but I started panicking. It was like a brain overload of the last coupe days. I wanted castle. I hurried to castles building and knocked on the door. Martha answered.
"Oh, Katherine!"she cried, I must have looked awful.
"Is castle here?"
"I'm afraid not, he's off at a book signing"
"Oh darling do come in"
I couldn't thing of anything else to do so I just followed Martha to the couch where she sat me down.
"I'll go get you some coffee" she said.
I laid back on the couch. I don't know why I was having such mental break down. Maybe it was being pregnant or the stress of this case.
"Here" Martha said as she handed me a cup of coffee.
"Kate, what's going on, and dont tell me you're here because of a case. I knew when you and Richard were together the day I walked in on you and I know you're together now."
She might give some unwanted advice sometimes but she really was a smart woman.
"Yes, Martha we're together. The separation thing was real at first but we got back together. This has to stay a secret though"
"You have my word" and I knew she meant it.
"Well I'll leave you here to rest for a bit, we can talk note later."
"Okay" I say, "I just have to tell my detectives I won't be in today"
