CHAPTER 16

The days that pass are like a blurr. Casper and I are inseparable but i still feel an emptiness in me that I can't seem to understand. I'm happy with our relationship but something feels like missing. All my friends support us even Sebastian. It seems like he finally accepted me to be part of his brother's life.

My parents are still against Casper and it's really so frustrating.

"Dad why are you so opposed to Casper and me. Did he do something to make you dislike him?" I am puzzled to why they keep on telling me to avoid him at all cost.

"Maybe you need to know everything Meg. " I was taken aback, is something really wrong about him? My dad stands and get the files on his cabinet and show them to me.

"Do you remember what i told you about this Meg?" I look at them and i notice that they were the papers i helped him filed.

"Uhm yes, you were saying they were part of the reason why we are here right?"

"Yes, and i think now is the right time to tell you about this. Luke wouldn't understand because it seems you are the one involve in all this."

"What are you talking about dad?" I am really getting nervous now.

"Lets sit here Meg, i want you to listen and understand carefully what i'm about to tell you."

"Days before your birthday last year, your mom and I came across this scroll. As much as we tried, we can't really decipher anything about the writings. They are in codes but a few words were wrtitten in English." He looked at me first and then continue to speak.

"There was a phrase that says 'It all began in Ravenwood' and because of that we asked some of our collegues what they know about this place. One of them, Prof. Sanders,he is the oldest professor we knew told us that an urban legend was circulating here. He came to investigate of course but found no proof or whatsover of what it might be. He told us that during the old times a lot of crimes happened here and the authorities were puzzled as to what is causing all the disappearances then later on being found dead with not a single blood on the victims." He paused again and look at me. I realized that my heart began beating fast, it's like a new chapter is unfolding before my eyes.

"Then from chaos comes a sudden change. The disappearances and deaths stopped. Ravenwood suddenly becomes the most peaceful place on Earth. See, when we made a research about this place we stumble about a family who governs this place during the time of peace. And we came here to have an audience with them and came to an agreement."

"So what is it really all about? Have you found out the secret that lies here on Ravenwood?"

"We met with them Meg, they were, ah,how could i describe them, maybe the scariest persons we've met in our entire life. They weren't barbaric or anything but actually very prim and polite. They were beautiful, in appearance i mean."

"At first they were reluctant to help us. But they were intrigue by the scroll, it belonged to one of their oldest ancestors. We came to an agreement that they will help us but we must never divulge anything to anyone and that's why we transferred here so they can keep an eye on us. Our lives depended on keeping this secrets Meg but we really need to know what the scrolls are all about." I am a little confused. They can just give them the scroll if they think it will cause us danger.

"But what's so important with these scrolls? Why can' t you just give them those and just forget about it. What will you gain from them?" My dad suddenly stood and pace around the office. I know he is not telling everything. I mean it doesn't make sense, right?

"Meg, just trust us okay, we need what's written on that scroll. It will give the answers to a lot of questions we have since..." he looked at me and then shake his head.

"Uhm okay so what does it have to do with Casper?"

"The Seinfields are the governing family here, Meg, they were Casper's parents. We didn't want you to have any connection with their family. They are not like us."

The talked i had with dad confused me even more. I don't understand anything. What is really wrong with Casper's family. I need to have an answer now so i texted him.

**Casper, we need to talk."
