CHAPTER 17

**Casper: Can we just talk tomorrow. I'm kind of busy right now.**

**I really need an answer now Casper.**

**Ok I'll meet you at the edge of the forest later around 9pm.**

This is getting ridiculous. I don't know why but I can't shake the feeling that something isn't right. I need to ask him what he knows or I might go crazy.

"Luke, are you busy? Can I come in?" I saw Luke lying down on his bed with an earphone on.

"Yeah sure sis, what's wrong? Do you have a problem?" He scrutinized my face and I know he can see the confusion in it.

"Oh I don't know. It's like there's a big secret in our family ready to explode and I don't have any idea what it could be." I sit down on his bed and pull the excess threads on his sheet.

"Yeah I know what you mean?"

"You do?" I was dumbfounded, I never thought that Luke will have sense something wrong.

"Hey I'm the more intelligent twin okay. I'm not dense. I can tell that mom and dad have a secret that involves around us. You know, the secrecy of being transferred here, being low profile. I don't get what it means but there must be a huge reason about all of that." He shrugs.

"Well yeah if you put it like that." Come to think of it why haven't I figured it out sooner. I mean we were living happily in Forks then bam, all of a sudden mom and dad were never home. They restricted us from using the library. Then they insisted on moving here. There must be a reason right?"

Then suddenly Luke was laughing. He ruffled my hair.

"You are so dumb witted sometimes." Inspite of what happened I laugh at what he says.

At around 9pm I soundlessly leave the house and went to the rendezvous point.

I can see Casper pacing in the dark.

"Meg, What is bothering you?" He meet me halfway and place a kiss on my forehead then hold my hand and guide me to sit in the log.

"Casper can I ask you something?" I saw him nod so I continue while looking at the distance.

"Why did my parents dislike you so much? They told me they met you and your family before. I don't understand." I look at him but I can't read his expression. He didn't answer right away and I thought he is angry at me.

"Meg, I don't know what your parents told you. But I really can't explain everything right now. I know you love your parents but I want you to trust me on this. I mean you no harm as well as your family." He look at me seriously.

"That's the thing, my parents don't want to tell me everything. They just made it sound like your family is dangerous or something." I am really getting frustrated now.

"It's really too complicated, remember when I told you I don't want you to be part of my life, the reason is way too complex for you to understand so I am asking you to just stop asking me questions." Then he just march off without even looking at me.

"What the hell is wrong with him?" I ask myself furiously. I was so pissed off with Casper that I didn't look at where I was walking and I suddenly find myself falling but before I could hit the ground a hand reach out to steady me.

"Hey, are you alright?"
