You've now been mine
For longer than I'd like
You shine so bright
Behind those lies
And I need you more this time
And I am on my own
But not for long
I keep my friends so close
And you even closer. -Trophy Eyes. You Me At Six.
Chapter 5
Juliet's POV
When I woke up my face hurt more then yesterday if possible. I unpacked my small makeup bag with my toothbrush inside. As I looked myself over the bruise looked worse as well. It felt weird to be here. Normally I would be waking up to a drunken Brad, looking for somebody to blame.
I began taking out the makeup to cover up the bruise on my jaw. The other would be covered up by my sweats and long sleeve shirt. I rolled my sleeves up and I pulled my hair tie off my wrist, I took the foundation and just as the brush touch my cheek the opposite door swung open to reveal a half-naked Luke. A loose towel hung around his hips and he looked like he was about to jump in the shower.
"OH MY GOSH!" I turned around.
'Uhh.." He blushed furiously. This was actually the first time he wasn't cocky or arrogant around me.
"I didn't know you didn't lock the door" He said.
"You don't have to be embarrassed, It's my fault," I blushed. He began backing away and then his look turned quizzical and I knew he saw my face. Crap.
Luke's POV
As I retreated back to my room my blush never faded and before I could even question her about the bruise on her face (I had seen it yesterday as well,) or even put my clothes on I heard the boys knocking.
"Shit" I cursed. Evidently my mom had let them in because they burst into my room. They took in my flushed face appearance and began laughing.
"Did we interrupt something?" Ashton smirked. I could imagine my face turning even redder at him suggesting that I was... never mind. But soon enough they saw the open bathroom door and a shocked Juliet. Her eyes were wide as she took their appearance in. Being so quick witted, Ashton spoke first.
"Hey, I'm Ashton." He quickly moved across the room to her. A weird feeling burned in my stomach. He wrapped his arms around her quickly and hesitantly she returned the gesture. When he pulled away none of us were surprised. Ashton was usually always the first to introduce himself. "What happened to your face?" He asked immediately.
"What happened to yours?" She retorted seriously and I smiled at her.
"I'm serious." He looked at her and pushed her chin up so he could see the bruise better. After a few moments she pulled away from his touch.
"I fell up the stairs last night." She looked away pretending to be ashamed. She was a really good liar. I almost believed her act except for the fact that I had seen her bruise yesterday through the window before she put her hair down. I didn't think much of it until she lied about it. The guys began to chuckle.
"How did you manage that?" Ashton flirted.
"It was dark and I was thirsty." She crossed her arms and looked away. He bit his lip and stared at her. I could see it in his eyes. He already liked her. That was impossible. He didn't even know her! I didn't know her either. My rational side tells me.
And it's right.
