This is the first and the last time I swear

It's a numbers game and you were there

Do you know what this means?

'Cause we know what this means

No, Oh!  Who'd you think I was?  -? You Me At Six

Chapter 9

Ashton's POV

"Goodnight Ashton." She blushed again, it gave me chills to hear her say my name. I loved being the one making her feel this way. As I walked back to my car I went over our date. It was literally one of the best ever. I had been out with only two girl before Juliet and one of them didn't ever want to go out with me again after the first date.(Something about me being not serious enough?). I hoped this was different, especially because it would be awkward as hell if not. And I genuinely liked her. She wasn't fake like almost every other girl around me. She was real and I couldn't wait until until I saw her again tomorrow. No doubt I would probably be here first thing tomorrow morning. She was already making my head spin. I hadn't had a crush in such a long time.

That's why I was extremely upset when I thought Luke liked her. But he genuinely looked like he didn't give a fuck when he said I could take her out. I smiled just thinking about her. I definitely wasn't getting any sleep tonight.

Juliet's POV

It was completely dark when I entered the house. I guess Liz didn't wait up on me. I was just about to climb up the stairs when somebody stepped out of the shadows.

"Hey."

My screams were quickly stifled into his chest. "Hey. It's only me." Luke rubbed my back as the tears came to my eyes. He scared me so bad.

"O-oh my g-osh." I fisted his t-shirt.

"I'm so sorry. I thought you knew I was there." Luke tried to soothe me. I quickly pushed the tears back. Where the hell did those come from? For an instant I literally thought he was Brad coming back for me. That thought gave me a shudder and Luke wrapped his arms around me. "I'm so, so, so, sorry." I quickly wrapped my arms around him as well.

"I-It's not your fault." I hiccuped and leaned into his chest. I was so tired. I tighted my grip around his torso. I needed something to hold on to.

"I think I need a bed." And the last thing I saw was a concerned and shocked Luke as I began to fall to the floor.

Ashton's POV

Just as I began to back out of Juliet's driveway after thinking about my wonderful night for a while, I heard a scream. "Ashton!!" I heard Luke and I quickly stomped on the brakes.

"What the fuck Luke?" I rolled the window down. If he was going to change his mind and say that no me and Juliet couldn't go out, well fuck him. I wasn't going to listen anymore.

"I think Juliet needs to go to the hospital. She just collapsed. My moms not even here. I can't drive." His eyes looked red and he looked like he was going to start crying. "I can't carry her all the way out here. Please." Yep. A tear fell down his cheek.

"Are you serious?" I jumped out of the car not waiting for an answer. I ran up and swung the door open to find Juliet laid peacefully out on the couch. She couldn't be asleep already. I dropped her off less than five minutes ago.

"She just collapsed. You're stronger than me, and you know how to drive. Does she need to go to a hospital?"

"Do I look like a doctor to you?" I snapped. But soon calmed down. Luke was just trying to help. "I think we better take her, what if something is seriously wrong?"

"Yeah." Luke took a shaky breath. I carefully took her in my arms trying not to hurt her as Luke held the door. We walked out the door and Luke opened the car door as well. I set her in the backseat.

Seriously what the fuck am I supposed to do? Luke jumped in the back with her as I climbed in the drivers seat. My tires squealed as Luke called the neighbors telling them that the twins were home alone and if she could please, please come watch them because we needed to go to the hospital. She immediately agreed she loved the twins and they were already asleep anyway.

"Why isn't your mom home?" I asked through gritted teeth. Juliet better be okay. I can't believe this. I have no idea what is happening and that's what scares me.

"She went out with friends."

Suddenly I heard a shrill shriek from the backseat. "PULL OVER NOW!" I looked at her- shocked. And I knew Luke was doing the same thing, but I quickly complied. Once we were stopped Juliet threw open the door and her threw up her cotton candy. Luke was quick to pull up her hair and I just stood back unsure of what to do.

"This couldn't be more embarrassing." Juliet shuts her eyes.

"It's okay." Luke pulled back a strand of fallen hair.

"Are you okay?" I asked her as she stood back up straight.

"Yeah, I think I was just shocked. I pass out a lot." She blushed furiously.

"Why?" Luke and I said at the same time.

"I don't know." She blushed again and I got the feeling that she did know.

"Why were you so shocked?" I asked her.

She shakily laughed. "Luke just scared me."

"And you passed out?"

"I know." She turned away.

"It was all my fault." Luke turns to me and then back to her.  "I thought you knew I was there. I shouldn't of just jumped out at you."

"It-, it's really okay... Where were you guys taking me?" She looked around. I admit it looked a little sketchy. We were pulled over on the side of the highway and woods were on either side.

"I- we thought you needed to go to the hospital." Luke admitted sheepishly.

"Well, I'm pretty sure I don't, Please just take me home." It looked like she was about to cry, and I couldn't blame her. We had made a big deal out of nothing and then she just threw up. Talk about embarrassing. But I didn't care and I felt extremely sorry for her and whatever had just happened. I didn't even know. This whole night was a blur.

As we drove home in silence I thought about my date with her. It didn't seem less than an hour ago. A few days ago maybe. I looked at her when I parked in their driveway and they got out. She caught my gaze and walked around to my open window.

"I guess you never had a date like this one huh?" She cracked a smile.

"This was the after-the-after-date. The date was amazing. The after-date was amazing. After that was a little scary." I joked.

"I'm sorry." Juliet looked away and I followed her gaze.

"Don't be." I looked up at Luke staring at us from the porch. That boy was really starting to piss me off.

"I'd kiss you right now but my breath probably tastes like puke." Juliet giggled and I pulled her into a hug. Our bodies was wrapped tightly together and I could feel Luke's stare.

"Well you don't smell like it." I told her and she laughed into my shoulder.

"Thank you." She pulled away and joined Luke on the porch. He opened the door for her and rolled his eyes at me. He looked pissed and I knew exactly why.

He was lying about liking her.

Fuck.
