I smell your scent on my skin and the clothes that I wear,

It's a thought in my head and I can't shake it,

Of you and him.

Chapter 14

Juliet's POV

"I think I'm just going to wait in the car." I squeaked as I looked up at Liz's house. Michael snorted.

"No your not. I wouldn't know what to grab and I don't think the other guys would appreciate me going through your underwear drawer. Even though I'd be happy to." He put his hands up in mock surrender. I shook my head, ignoring his teasing.

"Look." He suddenly points at Liz. She is getting in her car.

"This couldn't be more perfect." I say. She pulls out of the driveway. It looks like she's been crying. I feel bad and I can't help but think it's because of me. We wait until she drives around the corner and I jump out of Michael's car.

"Hurry! Before she comes back!" I basically screech at him. He laughs and I realize I'm overreacting.

"Shut up." I cross my arms.

"Oh, C'mon." He tugs at my arm.

We run up to the porch and I start to knock. Michael rolls his eyes and just opens the door. Luke jumps up off the couch and Ashton stands up behind him. They both look like lost puppies. Hurt and confused.

I can tell Ashton has been crying. His eyes are red and his fists are clenched. What did Luke tell him? By the looks of it- the truth.

What have I done?

Ashton's POV

I stayed up all night thinking about Juliet. Where did we stand? She wasn't my girlfriend, sure I wanted her to be. But so did Luke.

I shouldn't of left her like that. She looked so broken when I went out the door. I left her broken, just waiting for Luke to pick up the pieces. And I knew he wouldn't waste an opportunity to turn her against me.

When I finally did sleep I dreamt of her. Her holding my hand. Her kissing my lips. Her touching me. Her waking up next to me. Just her.

As soon as I woke up I took a shower and changed my clothes- multiple times. I was going over to Luke's to apologize for everything. I started this fight whatever thing with Juliet for nothing. I was jealous. I had every right to be jealous of Luke but not of Michael. He showed no romantic intrest in her. He was just being a good friend. I was not. 

I gave a quick kiss to my mom and told her I was going to the Hemmings.

"What's new with them?" She asked me as she was getting ready for work. I shrugged, then realized I never even told her about Juliet. But I refrained from saying anything about it because I didn't know where Juliet and I stand.

"Luke's been pissing me off." I tell her.

She raises her brows. "Why?" 

"He likes this girl I like." I try to shrug it off.

"It's okay honey. If she doesn't choose you then you weren't meant to be together." She rubs my back. I nod but her statement makes me feel worse. We are meant to be together.

I just come in to Luke's house. We stopped knocking a while ago. 

"Luke?" I ask. He looks like he's been crying. Liz looks that way as well.

"Hey Ashton." He doesn't sound hostile like he's been the past few days. He sounds almost guilty.

"Where's Juliet?" I ask suspiciously. 

"I can't take this." Liz walks into the kitchen.

"My mom kicked her out last night and now we don't know where she went." Luke looks away, ashamed.

My eyes widened. She could be dead for all we knew. "Wha- Why?"

"Promise you won't be mad?" Luke tears up again.

"Depends." I narrow my eyes.

By the end I'm crying. I had a feeling Luke downplayed the intimacy and I was thankful for it. How could they do this to me? But more importantly, where is she? What if I never get to hear all the things she wanted to tell me. If only I had stayed last night.

Liz is extremely sorry and wants her to come home. Me too. She needs to come home. 

It feels like we've been waiting forever. It's already 3:30 I've been here for four hours waiting for her. 

"I'm going to go out looking for her again." Liz suddenly says. "I feel so bad." Me and Luke nod as we watch her get in her car.

"I'm so sorry Ashton." Luke tells me. "I knew Juliet had feelings for you and I should of let it go." This calms me. Juliet likes me. But I'm pretty sure I blew it.

"You basically took advantage of her. You knew she was broken. She was crying and you kissed her." I spit at him.

Luke's eyes hardened. "She wasn't crying when I kissed her."

I needed to cool down. But before I could the angel herself walked through the door with Michael hot on her heels.

We quickly stand up.

"Ashton." She breaths and her eyes widen. She looks afraid of me and my anger is gone. I walk up to her and kiss her. She quickly melts into me.

"I'm so sorry." She hugs me and rests her head on my chest.

"It's okay." I soothe. "I forgive you." I don't care about the shit my mom told me- We were meant to be together.

I almost forgot the other guys were there. When we pulled away Michael had a cheesy grin on his face like he knew it was going to happen and Luke had looked away at our exchange of affection.

"You know, don't you?" She pulls me close again.

"Yes. Luke told me everything. But I don't care. I just want to know where you were." I say into her hair.

"I stayed outside for a while. Then when I thought my fingers were going to fall off I called Michael."

"She's going to stay with me for a while." Michael tells us.

"Why?" I pull back from her embrace. Fucking jealous already.

"She can't stay here." Michael looks at me quizzically. "She got kicked out remember?"

"My mom feels really bad, I think she might let her stay." Luke says, still not meeting our eyes.

"I don't think she will. And even if she does it will be awkward." Juliet looks away from him as well. "I don't want to stay." My heart breaks for Luke as I hear him whimper at her last statement. He is a stronger man than me. I would of been crying if she left me and said something like that to me.

Suddenly the door opens. "Hey guys. Sorry I had a dentist appointment so I couldn't be her earlier. What'd I miss?" Calum's smile fades at our tear stained faces. "Crap, seriously what'd I miss?"
