I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico by only my mother, because my father left when I was born. I'm the only child, because my mother couldn't trust another man. When I turned 15, my mother and I moved to Atlanta, Georgia to get away from all the gangs, so I can live my life better than she has.

When we moved here, I started school at Fredrick Douglas High, where later on, I began to get bullied by these five boys named, Patrick, Bryan, Carnell, Dustin and Kelly. Two years later, the starting of Junior year, they still proceeded to abuse me, call me out of my name, and do other bad things to me.

I never told anyone, because that would just make the situation worse. And to top it off, I have no friends to have my back.

I'm Diamond Rodriguez, and here's my story.

The tune of 'Baddie' by the OMG Girlz alarmed me that I had to wake up for school. School...the horrible place where I get abused every second and hour of the day by five brothers. I just wanna stay asleep and dream forever.

I laid in bed for a couple more minutes thinking out a way to avoid these boys. There's only one strategy, and it was to come in late, but I've been getting detentions for it.

Sluggishly, I dragged myself out of bed and trudged over to my bathroom. I was so tired. I was up all night, because I had nightmares of those boys. Like seriously, you know it's bad when you start having nightmares about them.

I got my tooth brush from the cup sitting on the counter and brushed my teeth. After two minutes, I washed my face, and brushed my hair into a high ponytail. My hair was shoulder length, so my ponytail wasn't that long.

I walked to my closet and got out a white, long sleeved sweater. It was early September so the weather was cold, plus I had bruises on my arms from when they grab me and shove me into the lockers. I got out some dark blue skinny jeans and some black boots. I got dressed, and grabbed my phone. I walked downstairs and my mother was cooking breakfast.

"Good Morning sweetie. Did you sleep good?" My mom asks as she flips a pancake.

"Actually, I couldn't sleep. I kept having nightmares." I yawned.

"Aw, what happened? You'll only have nightmares if something's happening to you, or you've seen something scary." She responded.

"Nothing serious." I lied. "I just don't wanna talk about it."

"Well okay. Here's your breakfast. I have to go to work. Bye sweetie." She said before she kissed my forehead and left.

Whenever she leaves for work, I stay home for a while to go to school late. The detentions are totally worth it. After I'm done eating, I go watch t.v for a while.

10 Minutes Later

I got up and prepared to head to school. After I hopped in my white, Honda Civic, I drove to that hell hole of a school.

When I got there, the hallways were vacant. Good. I strolled to my locker, got my Physics book, then headed to first block.

After I walked in, all eyes were on me like I just murdered somebody. The class gets back to work after a couple seconds of paparazzi stares.

"That's three days in a row you've been late Ms.Rodriguez. What's the problem?" The teacher, Mrs.Baker, questioned as she gave me a stern look.

"N-nothing Mrs.Baker." I answered.

"You may take your seat." She retorted.

I go and sit down. Patrick and Bryan were in this class too. Patrick sat two seats across and one down from me. Bryan sat right behind me. Why did my seat have to be assigned in front of him?
