/ALY/
I entered my house. Maybe if I'm quick I can make it to bed without having to deal with mom. So I sort of ran on my tip toes towards the stairs. I started up them, I was almost halfway when she spoke.
"Stop trying to run away from all your problems."
I slowly turned on my heels. She stood at the bottom of the staircase, a beer bottle in hand.
"I-I'm not." I stuttered. I tried not to let her see me as weak. I just have to make it through the rest of summer and senior year, then I'll be free.
"Yes," She stumbled up the first few steps. "you are."
"I'm going to bed now." I spoke, she was too close for my liking.
I remember a time when I adored my mother. She was absolutely beautiful, bursting with life, she had such a colorful soul. My father and her were more in love than I had ever seen anyone in my life. They cared about me so much, they loved me so much. When he died, things changed. She picked up more bottles, started sleeping around, abusing me. More and more wrinkles decorated her once perfect face. She was aging, and she was starting to age me as well.
"How about you get downstairs and explain where you've been all night." She crossed her arms.
"I was just out." I said, almost a whisper.
"Is that so? Well get downstairs right now so we can talk about it." She pointed down the stairs.
I dragged myself down the stairs and into the living room. Greg, my mom's nasty boyfriend sat on the couch sipping some alcoholic beverage.
"Thought I told you to clean my house?" He asked, sounding more like a demand.
"You neve-"
"Liar!" He jumped up.
"I am not! You're the liar!" I yelled back.
That was my first mistake. Arguing back with my mom was one thing, but arguing back with Greg was a whole different story.
He brought his hand up and smacked my cheek. Hard.
I pressed my palm to the stinging area of my face. A single tear slipped from my eye.
"Do NOT disrespect me!" He yelled in my face. He threw the bottle across the room. He turned to my mom.
She was just casually leaning against the wall, watching, messing with her nails, chuckling to herself.
"I've about had it with you, bitch," He snarled. "If you don't stop with all this bullshit you're gonna be out on the streets! Now get outta my sight!"
I ran to my room, locking myself inside. I didn't change my clothes, didn't even shower. I just hurled myself onto my bed, clutching the many decorative pillows as an anchor. I sobbed, and sobbed, and sobbed.

The next morning I woke around 9. I entered my bathroom, brushed my teeth, hopped in the shower. I did my hair and makeup, then pulled on some maroon shorts, and a gray fitted v neck top.
I sat on my bed flipping through some magazines when my phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey it's Luke."
A smile spread across my lips.
"H-Hi Luke."
"Hi," I could practically hear his smile. "So I was wondering if you wanted to hangout?"
"Yes!" I said almost too eager. "I mean yeah, yeah, that'd be great."
"Awesome! Okay can I pick you up around 11:00?"
"Yeah, see you then." I grinned.
"See you then Aly Cohen."
After fixing my hair better, and making sure I look presentable. I waited until 10:50 to head downstairs.
As I passed by the living room I noticed Greg passed out on the couch. In the kitchen my mom sat at the table staring out the window smoking a cigarette.
I snuck past her and out the front door. Sitting on my front porch, twirling a piece of grass between my fingers I waited for the blonde boy.
Soon his car appeared at the end of my driveway. I practically hopped off the porch, and sped towards the street.
Luke got out and opened the passenger door for me. How thoughtful. I smiled as a thanks.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
Luke gripped the steering wheel. "I was thinking," He turned towards me, a smirk appearing on his mouth. "We go on a small road trip."
"What do you mean small road trip?" I grinned.
"Well the gang found this really chill motel. I know motels are kinda sketchy but this is pretty rad. It's about two hours away from here." He seemed hopeful.
"So like, are we staying the night?" I asked. That was probably a dumb question.
"I'm not sure, if you're in, go pack really quick. We'll see where the wind takes us." He smiled.
This is what I had wanted for so long. I had the opportunity to get away from my shit life. At least for a couple of nights.
I was already in deep with my adventure from last night, so I pondered if this would be worth it.
"I'm in."

After two hours and thirty minutes and several stops at gas stations for Sour Patch Kids and Redbull, Luke and I finally arrived at the Moon Motel.
We walked to the first room. "Alright Cal said its room 93."
Luke led the way until we reached the desired door with the number 93.
Luke knocked on the door once before slowly pushing it open.
Calum and Michael were sitting on the floor wrestling around while Ashton and Bryana flipped through channels on the television.
"Hey man, hey Aly!" Michael beamed once he realized we were standing there.
"Hey." Luke greeted, making his way sit on the edge of the bed.
I didn't want to stand there awkwardly so I followed, sitting beside him, our feet dangled over the side.
"So what's the plan exactly?" Luke chuckled.
"We hide out here for a few days, have some laughs, spend some best friend bonding time." Calum grinned.
"CALUM HOOD WHERE DID YOU PUT MY DUFFLE BAG!" an angry and sassy voice called from the bathroom around the corner of the room.
I recognized that voice instantly. Crystal.
Great just what I needed. When she sees that I'm joining this little adventure she'll give me and the boys hell.
Luke placed his hand on the small of my back because he saw her loud outburst had startled me.
"I don't know! It's your shit to take care of, not mine!" Calum yelled back.
Moments later Crystal strides out of the bathroom a flustered look on her face.
Then she looked over and spotted Luke and I on the bed, his hand on my back.
A devious smirk spread across her lips. "Well, isn't this gonna be an interesting weekend?" She crossed her arms.
