/LUKE/
"Mike says we need to come get him asap." Calum shook me awake.
I was having a blissful nap on his couch until he gave me a heart attack.
"Uhhhh whyyyy?" I whined, pulling a pillow over my face.
"Because his car broke down and we are not leaving our best friend stranded in the middle of nowhere." Calum pulled me off the couch and I landed with a thud.
I glared up at him. Deciding that we should be good best friends, I crawled off the floor and headed outside towards Calum's car.
We stopped by Ashton and Bryana's flat to pick him up. Bry and Aly were out having a girls shopping day. It was really great they were becoming close friends.
Ash crawled in the back but leaned up between the two front seats. Taking notice of my tired state he slapped my shoulder. "Luke, mate what's with the scowl on your face?"
Calum chuckled. "Yeah if you'd just smile someone might fall in love with you."
"I'm just exhausted." I ran a hand over my face.
Recently I had noticed Aly was having trouble functioning properly. She barley ate and hardly slept at all. It was worrying me sick. Of course she wouldn't tell me, no matter how much I hinted to it. She always assured me she was "okay", "not tired", or "dieting".
Multiple nights I have noticed that when she actually did sleep, she would have nightmares. She would toss and turn, yell, and sweat. But when she woke up, she never mentioned it. I was so concerned about her that I forced myself to stay up to watch over her.
"My question is, what exactly is Michael doing thirty minutes away?" I asked.
"He read about some really rad music store and he just had to check out the guitars. On his way back his car quit on him, right on the side of the freeway." Calum explained.
"Ohh that's tough." Ash snickered.
"He could've just came to Rough Day, I'd give him a discount." I fiddled with the hem of my shirt.
"Dude are you sure you're alright?" Calum asked.
I sighed. "It's just Aly.." I trailed off.
"Woah man you're not like.. breaking things off with her are you?" Ash questioned.
"What? No way." I breathed. Aly and I weren't even officially anything yet, and I still couldn't imagine being without her.
"Good because she really cares for you, and she's smoking hot." Cal spoke.
I tried not to burn holes into his head with my glare, but I brushed it off because it was Calum. "She hasn't been eating, and she's barley sleeping. I don't know what's wrong with her because she won't tell me anything other than she's okay and to quit worrying. When she does sleep she has these nightmares...where she just goes crazy at night. I just want her to open up. I want her to see that someone truly cares about her, that she's not alone."
The boys sighed. "You really care about her don't you?" Calum breathed.
"Yeah I really fucking lo-like her."
"Then show her that it's okay for her to be vulnerable around you. Show her that you're there with her through anything." Ashton patted my shoulder.
"Luke I know this is a touchy subject..." Calum trailed off.
I knew exactly where he was going with this and I didn't want to continue the conversation. It was more than a "touchy" subject.
"Cal." Ashton warned.
"Aly has helped you get better. Don't pretend like she hasn't. I've noticed...hell we all have. The light has returned to your eyes, you're not angry at everything, and most importantly you're smiling again." Calum paused and glanced over at me. "You need to be there for her, through whatever this is, help her get back to normal."
I gave him a small closed mouth smile and a nod. He was right. Ever since I met Aly she pulled me out of that dark place, she made me, me again.

"It's all really great, I'm glad you had a good time angel." I smiled at Aly, who was showing me everything she bought.
We sat pretzel style across from each other on the floor, discussing our day and soaking up each other's company.
"Oh I almost forgot!" She exclaimed. The small girl took off to the bedroom and came back with a bag.
When she held it in front of my face I gave her a smirk. "What's this?"
"I-I wanted to get you something, as a thank you for everything you've done for me." She blushed, avoiding my gaze. "It's nothing much so if you don't like it..."
I pulled a red flannel, a box set of HIMYM, and a Nirvana's greatest hits vinyl. I loved all of it, I really did, especially because it came from Aly.
"Princess you didn't have to get me any of this." I smiled in awe. She tried to cover up her blushing cheeks but I could tell the pet name I gave her made her happy.
"Well since I pretty much stole your favorite flannel I got you a new one, and we can watch 'How I Met Your Mother on rainy days, and Nirvana..you love them." She looked down at her fingers, nervously twisting her rings.
"C'mere," I opened my arms. She crawled over to me and sat in my lap. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pressed a kiss to her shoulder. "Thank you so much for the gifts." I mumbled against her skin.
She traced the veins in my hands with her pointer finger. "You don't need to thank me."
We sat like this for a while, in a comfortable silence until her phone buzzed on the coffee table.
She hopped up and checked what I assumed was a text message. Her face forming into a frown, then a look of worry.
"Babe?" I questioned.
She didn't answer me, she just stared at her phone and took a deep breath. "Luke, I'm tired, I'm gonna take a shower." She rushed, placing her phone down. By that time I was already standing beside her with an arm wrapped around her.
"What's wrong?" I pressed. "You can tell me."
"It's nothing. I'm fine, promise." She kissed my cheek and smiled a small smile, then excused herself to shower.
I took a seat on the couch and started texting Mikey when Aly's phone buzzed repeatedly. I wasn't going to snoop, whatever it was wasn't my business. However the amount of times her phone buzzed in five minutes was ridiculous.
Leaning forward I looked at the screen.
Unknown number: answer me right now!
Unknown number: seriously Alyse answer the damn phone.
Unknown number: I'm coming to get you.
Unknown number: open your fucking window.
Unknown number: where are you!?
I had a feeling I knew who this was and it made my blood boil. I was pissed, which was not a good thing. The shower was still running so I picked up her phone and dialed the number.
"Why the fuck are you just now answering me?" A familiar voice shouted. I was right, it was Trevor.
"Stop fucking with Alyse." I growled.
"Oh it's the body guard." He scoffed.
"I'm serious, you call this number again and I'll beat the shit out of you."
He laughed. "Luke is it? You'll realize eventually that Aly is just a worthless piece of ass that nobody loves. Nobody except me of course. So stop wasting your time."
I was beyond furious now. "Don't you dare speak about her like that," I seethed. "You come near her again and you're a dead man."
"Yeah I'm sure," he chuckled. "Trust me I'll see you around." The line went dead.
I slammed the phone down and went to the bedroom. She stood at the mirror tying her hair into a braid. She wore one of my faded t-shirts that stopped mid thigh, and god did it look amazing on her.
"Hi." She whispered, making eye contact with me through the glass.
"Hey." I whispered. I was still angry but I tried to hide it from her.
I sat at the end of the bed with my head in my hands. Soon she had moved in front of me, her fingers combing through my hair. I leaned my head against her stomach and hugged her waist.
"What's stressing you out Lukey?" She asked.
I nuzzled my face against her and then pulled her onto my lap, laying back so we stared at the ceiling.
"Just thinking." I lied.
"About?" She traced my collarbone.
You... "Everything."
She nodded. "I think about everything too."
"Like what?"
"Books, music, astrology, traveling, Thea, my home life, you." She whispered.
I kissed her forehead. "I think about you a lot Aly."
"All good things I hope." She chuckled.
"Of course."
Soon I showered and we lay down to go to sleep. Aly rested on top of me with her head nuzzled in the crook of my neck. I rubbed her back until she fell asleep, and soon my eyes became heavy too.
"Stop! Get off! Agh don't touch me p-please!" A girl's voice shouted. Soon it was quiet again but the thrashing around didn't cease.
I stirred awake. Aly was curled up in the fetal position, sniffling.
"Princess?" I whispered, pulling her to me.
She was awake. Her quiet whimpers and cries turned to sobs. Her whole body shook.
"I'm s-sorry Luke. I-I can't h-help it."
"Hey don't apologize." I pulled her into my embrace.
She sobbed into my chest, and clutched onto my white t-shirt. I just held her as she cried and whispered soothing lyrics into her ear.
It was 3 a.m but I didn't care. My girl was hurting and I just needed to be there for her.
"If you w-want, I'll sleep o-on the couch." She mumbled.
"No! No absolutely not," I kissed her head. "Stay right here in my arms."
She kissed my shoulder as a silent "okay" Finally I said what I had been wanting to say all week. "Baby girl I know something is going on, and I know you don't want to open up to me. Why, I'm not sure but I promise you that no matter what it is I will stand by you. If someone or something is harming you please tell me, I want to protect you, I want to care for you." I whispered.
"Why are you so amazing?" She looked up into my eyes.
Her sparkling brown eyes never failed to take my breath away. "Trust me sweetheart I'm not even close."

The smell of eggs and pancakes brought me out of my slumber. I felt around the bed but Aly wasn't there. The alarm clock read 12:30 p.m. I groaned and stumbled out of my bedroom and to the kitchen.
A sight I could get used to seeing was Alyse in one of my t-shirts, cooking breakfast, and humming. She was blasting one of her favorite bands: The Spill Canvas.
I snook up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. She gasped and went to throw my hands off her but then she realized it was just me.
"Morning lovely." I kissed her neck, nuzzling my nose there.
"G'morning," she chuckled and turned to face me. I took advantage of our close proximity and wrapped my arms around her tighter, then leaned down and kissed her gently. She smiled into the kiss (which was the cutest thing ever), that caused me to smile too. "I hope you like eggs and pancakes?"
"Mm  love 'em." I twirled a fly away hair of hers around my finger. Rubbing circles onto her hips in leaned in for another kiss because I couldn't get enough of her. "God I could get used to this."
She grinned but her smile turned a bit sad. "Don't get your hopes up Lukey, things with me can be messy." She whispered, looking down.
"I swear to you I'm messier." I sighed.
Taking notice of the shift of attitude in the air she changed the subject. "So sleeping beauty do you feel like you've missed half of your day?"
I laughed as she referred to my sleeping late. "No I loved it, just wish you would've been there when I woke up, I mean every princess needs his Prince Charming right?"
She burst into a fit of laughter and traced circles onto my chest. "Oh shut up you smart ass. Besides you will never catch me sleeping that late."
We ate our breakfast (or lunch) and then decided on a lazy day. Aly insisted that the HIMYM box set was to be saved for a rainy day, so we put on 'Friends'.
The day was peaceful and fun spent with the girl I was falling for. Her adorable laugh every time Joey said something stupid, the way she played with the hair at the nape of my neck. Everything Aly did was precious to me. She seemed in a happier mood than she had been latley. She wasn't distracted and she even took a nap without having hellish nightmares.
She sat in my lap as I combed my fingers through her hair. We were on season two of 'Friends' and just chatting about the boys' and our plans tonight when her phone buzzed.
Unknown number: Meet me at our old spot at 7 p.m...I have some very important information about your friend Luke.

A/N: okay so I don't remember if I put this in an authors note before or not but Alyse is pronounced (Uh-lease)
the end of that chapter was me trying to make it suspicious but failing miserably. However I love Luke Hemmings so much he is such a special human being and I feel like too many people are forgetting that. They are all exceptional boys who I adore and love with my whole heart.
Also it hurts my heart immensely to hear about Christina Grimmie, she was so beautiful and talented and will truly be missed.
