/ALY/

Crystal eyed me as she stepped further into the room. That devilish smirk still decorated her lips.
Finally she tore her attention away from me. "Calum please go get my stuff." She stuck out her bottom lip, making a puppy dog face.
How pathetic. She's manipulating him into doing such a simple task for her.
"Fine." He said, dragging himself off the floor and out to the parking lot.
Crystal stood in front of the TV. Her arms crossed over her chest.
"Uh Crys can you move please?" Bryana asked.
"Aly," Crystal totally ignored Bryana. "Would you come help me in the bathroom, I need someone to curl the back of my hair?"
Seriously. She's asking me. I know she doesn't like me, and Bryana and her seem to get along most of the time so why couldn't she just ask her.
I looked at Luke with pleading eyes.
"Uh Crys I think Aly just wants to hangout in here." Luke scratched his head, he snaked his hand on my back further around my waist.
Now I was having trouble focusing on Crystal talking to me because the feeling of Luke's arm gently wrapped around my waist was so comforting.
"You think Aly wants to hangout in here," she said. "I think she is a big girl and can speak for herself."
Luke rubbed his hand up and down which sent shivers down my spine. He whispered in my ear so no one else could hear. "Just go with her or you'll never hear the end of it, if she gets to be too much I'm right out here waiting on you."
I nodded my head and went with Crystal to the bathroom.
For a motel room the bathroom was quite large, so was the whole room actually. There was only one bed though.
Crystal shut the door behind us and stood in front of it.
"So," she started. "What's going on between you and Luke?"
I hesitated. Part of me wanted to say we were together, to make her angry. I'm not even sure if Luke likes me that way, I'm not even sure if I like Luke that way. "We're just friends that's all."
"Friends?" She spoke, elongating the 'ends' part. "I suggest you keep it that way. Luke has had a lot of heartache throughout his short 19 years of life. I wouldn't want a bratty 16 year old girl to cause him anymore pain."
"I'm almost 18." I mumbled under my breath.
"What was that?" She asked.
"I said I'm almost 18." I replied.
"Hm. Well that doesn't change the fact that I don't trust you."
She walked over towards the mirror, picking up a hairbrush. She didn't even have a curling iron out this was just a ploy to interrogate me.
My mouth moved and the words came out before I could stop them. "What is your deal?"
She turned to me, her eyebrows furrowed. "Excuse me?"
"I mean, why don't you like me? You don't even know me and the second you saw me I became a target."
She shook her head. "Because a girl like you doesn't deserve someone as great as Luke."

/LUKE/
Aly had been in that bathroom with Crystal for quite awhile. I know girls can be slow when getting ready but damn.
By this point Bryana was trying to braid Ashton's hair (they're a weird but cute couple), Michael was out inspecting the place, and Calum was asleep on the floor.
I hurled myself off the bed and towards the bathroom. That's when I heard the harsh words.
"A girl like you doesn't deserve someone as great as Luke. Honestly you don't even matter enough for me to hate you."
I pushed open the bathroom door. An angry expression was on my face.
When Crystal saw it she softened up. "Uh hey Luke did you need to use the bathroom?"
"Stop playing dumb Crystal," I said through gritted teeth. "and stop being such a bitch to Aly."
Aly stood in the corner, she looked like she wanted to cry, but she was holding it together.
"Now come on I was just messing with her." Crystal chuckled.
"No, you weren't," I spat. "All you're doing is treating her like shit, and she does not deserve that."
Aly gave me a small smile.
"Luke stop being such a baby." Crystal retaliated.
"Why don't you," I snarled. "Come on Aly, this isn't gonna ruin your weekend." I leaned forward, taking her hand and leading her out of the bathroom.
"Is everything all right?" Ashton asked, a puzzled look on his face.
"Yeah sounded a little heated in there." Bryana added.
"Everything is fine," I fibbed. "Aly and I are just gonna go on a little walk."
After we exited the motel room we started walking down the stretch of sidewalk that lined the front of the motel.
For a few moments it was silent. A comfortable silence, it wasn't the intimidating silence that forces you to listen to the voices in your head.
"I'm really sorry about Crystal." I shoved my hands into my pockets.
"Uh yeah me too," Aly responded, kicking a pebble that was in her path. "You don't have to apologize though."
"I want too. She just...hasn't let go of some things that happened in the past."
I was trying to find a good way to put my history with Crystal. When I'm with Aly though, my mind gets jumbled and all I can think about is her lovely brown eyes, perfectly plump lips, and her soft voice.
"Did you guys like go out or whatever?"
"No," I chuckled. "No we didn't go out."
Aly dropped the subject. The rest of the walk we just talked about life and music and things we wanted to know about each other. I wanted to know everything about Aly Cohen.
Sure we'd only known each other for close to 24 hours, but she was fascinating. I'd never rested my eyes on someone so exceptionally beautiful, so kind, so lovely.
We came to a skatepark. There was no one there except for the two young boys who were walking across the road to a beach.
I sat on the edge of the bowl, holding my hand out for Aly.
When she took it I felt a jolt of electricity just like when we first held hands last night.
From the skatepark there was a beautiful view of the beach.
"Man it's beautiful here." Aly watched the waves crash onto the shore.
"Very." I agreed.
"Luke?" Aly looked up at me. I could feel her eyes scanning my face.
I turned to face her. "Mhm?"
"I-I just want you...to know," She paused, thinking about her words. "that I've smiled more in the last 24 hours than I have in the last three years. So please don't drop me hard when you get tired of me."
I wonder where this was coming from. It made my heart happy that I could make Aly smile again. We'd became pretty close in the last 24 hours. We'd gotten to know each other very well at the pier and in the car for a few hours. It hurt me that she felt like I would get tired of her.
I ran my thumb across the back of her hand. "Hey, I couldn't get tired of you. Where's this coming from?"
She blinked her eyes hard and looked away. Aly Cohen was crying.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, looking down.
I lifted the bottom of my t-shirt and wiped her tear stained cheeks. Just seeing her so fragile broke my heart.
I pulled her closer to me. "You can talk to me darling, you can let me in."
That's when she broke. She clung to my chest and sobbed. I held her close to me and kissed the top of her head. I whispered "shhs" and rubbed her back.
"Ev-everyone who is good...in my life..leaves me," She spoke between sobs. "Everyone except for my best friend Thea...and you're such an amazing guy..and I want you in my life. I'm worthless though that's the thing, I'm tired of not mattering."
I tilted her chin to look at me. "Aly, you are not worthless. You do matter. I've only known you for a day but I care about you so, so much. I will never leave you sweetheart, never."
I hugged her tight. I lay down and held her against my chests the concrete was sort of uncomfortable but holding her so close to me made up for it.
We stared at the sky, watching the sunset. Aly had calmed down, and soon you couldn't even tell that she had, had a breakdown.
"Hemmo!" A voice broke through our peaceful moment.
I turned my head to see Ashton approaching.
"Dude come on we're gonna get some food." Ashton grinned.
"Alright. We'll be there in a minute."
Ashton nodded and took off jogging back to the motel.
"You okay?" I searched Aly's eyes for any sign of sadness.
"I am now." She smiled a small closed mouth smile.
Pressing a long kiss to her temple I whispered. "Let's go stuff our faces with takeout."
She grinned and we started back to the motel.

/ALY/
I wasn't a huge fan of Chinese food but whatever Bryana had ordered for us was tasty. After we ate Michael stood up with a bottle of liquor in a brown paper back.
He held it in the air as he spoke. "I suggest," He was pretty tipsy. "We have a round of truth or dare before we get to the wild part of this adventure."
"What are you Mikey, 12?" Calum snorted. "Sit your drunk ass down."
"I like the idea of truth or dare." Crystal smirked.
Soon we all sat in a circle on the floor. I was never a huge fan of truth or dare. I didn't enjoy being dared to do something stupid or gross, and I especially hated having to tell my secrets.
Michael started. "Ashton, truth or dare?"
Ashton rolled his eyes and took a drink from the bottle of booze he shared with Bryana. "Dare."
Michael though for a moment before a smirk grew on his face. "I dare you to finish off that bottle in one sip."
The bottle was still over half full so Ashton would probably throw up. He did it anyways. It didn't seem to effect him that much except get him drunk.
"Calum," Ashton slurred. "Truth or dare?"
Calum looked up an annoyed smile on his face. "I'm not participating."
Michael and Ashton both erupted in laughter. "Pansy!" Michael pointed. "Calum Thomas Hood is a pansy!"
"Am not!" Calum laughed. "I'm just a 19 year old guy why would I play truth or fucking dare?"
I didn't even think until now how old these people were. If Calum was 19 then the other boys must have been too. I asked Luke while the others argued about a Calum playing. He informed me that Ashton was 21, Michael 19, Calum 19, Crystal 23, Bryana, 22, and Luke 19. It's cool that they didn't seem to mind the fact that I was only going to be a senior in the fall.
Calum must of done his because next he asked Luke. Calum dared Luke to go down the road to the gas station and get some more booze.
For some reason I felt comfortable enough to stay with these people. Everyone was really great (except Crystal) and they all seemed to not hate me.
"Aly." Crystal spoke. "Truth or dare?"
"Crys it's not your turn." Bry laughed. Everyone in the room was drunk except for me. I'd had a little to drink but I wanted to stay sober, at least until Luke came back.
"Uh truth," I said, not sure what to pick. I was sure if I picked dare Crystal would make me to something embarrassing, and if I picked truth I could lie because she didn't know me anyways.
"Why are you interested in Luke? I mean why are you hanging out with him?"
I should've known it would be about the blonde boy.
"He's really sweet and a great friend." I said. That was the truth. He was amazing, funny, kind, and far too lovely.
"You've only known him for a day. How can you be sure he's a 'great friend'?" Crystal laughed, putting air quotes around great friend.
"You'd have to be blind to not see how amazing he is." I looked down. I didn't want to be vulnerable. I didn't want her to know I really cared about Luke.
"Wow, thank you Alyse." A sincere voice said from behind me.
Standing in the doorway of the motel room was Luke with a bottle of vodka in one hand, and six pack of beer in the other.
He seemed really shocked that someone could say such kind words about him. It puzzles me that he was so amazed at my choice of words for him.
The game fizzled out and everyone drank some more, bonded, and had an all around good time.
I got to know the other boys really well, and Bryana and I became better friends as well.
It was 1 a.m when Ashton had an idea. "Let's walk down to that skatepark."
"Dude none of us have boards." Luke chuckled.
"So? I need to get out of this fucking room for a little bit." Ashton pulled Bryana up, and jogged out the door.
I hadn't really heard Ashton curse until then. It was probably the alcohol, because up until now he was the only one without a potty mouth.
The skatepark was lit by some light poles. Calum had brought all the booze with him. Michael stood inside the bowl and was spinning in circles.
We just goofed off and had a great druken time.
I couldn't deny myself that I didn't have some type of feelings for Luke. The longer we spent laughing and the more he carried me around on his back, I really started to realize he was someone I truly wanted in my life.
