/LUKE/
My heart hurts. Seeing Aly so broken, it ripped me apart. I had to get her out of there. It took everything in me not to run downstairs and bash those bastards faces in.
How could someone so beautiful, so angelic, go through such abuse? The past month and a half with Aly has changed me, made me better. To see her going through this made me sick.
We packed small duffle bag of clothes and things. I helped Aly out the window and to my car parked down the street. "Are you hungry?" I asked, pulling out of her neighborhood.
She shook her head. "No, no I'm okay, thank you though."
About ten or fifteen minutes later we arrived in front of my apartment building.
I led her up to my room, 9c. My apartment was pretty cozy and small.
"I'm gonna make some coffee, make yourself at home." I kissed her forehead and excused myself to the kitchen.
Aly loves her coffee black. That is way to strong for me so I add some cream to mine.
When I enter the living room she's sitting on the couch staring at the floor. I place the drinks on the coffee table and sit next to her, wrapping my arm around her shoulder, I pull her into my embrace.
Quiet sobs fall from her lips, I feel a few droplets of tears hit my arm.
"Shhh." I whisper, rubbing her back. "You're safe now, you're okay."
She pulled away slightly and averted her gaze from my own.
I don't understand why she would hardly look at me. All evening she would barley look me in the eye, as if she was afraid to get hurt any more.
I could never hurt Aly, I don't even want to imagine it.
"Luke..." She placed her hand on my chest. "Will you do something for me?"
"Yeah babe of course."
"Last week when I was waiting on you to finish up some work at the record store, I heard you singing a bit," she finally looked into my eyes. I had been longing to see those beautiful light brown orbs again. "It was so beautiful Luke, would you please sing for me?"
Oh no. She'd heard me sing. I haven't sang for anyone since.... I didn't start humming and singing again until Aly came into my life, so I suppose I do owe her that much.
"Y-Yeah.." I stuttered. C'mon Luke she needs you right now. "Yeah I will."
She smiled a small closed mouth smile, for the first time tonight. She rested her head against my chest, her palms on my waist.
"We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?"
When I finished, it was silent. I thought for sure Aly has fallen asleep.
"Can that be our song Luke?" She whispered against my chest.
"Yes baby, yes it can."
She shifted her body so she was sitting in my lap facing me. Then lifted her head and instantly connected our lips.
Her soft ones against my own was my favorite feeling in the world. I cupped her cheek in my hand. She traced my jaw with her pointer finger.
For some reason I pulled her closer to me, held her tighter, and didn't break the kiss. She was so precious to me, my fear would be losing her.
I'm falling in love with Alyse Rose Cohen. Hell I already hit the ground, really fucking hard.
After a few moments we detached our mouths. She searched my face, I don't know what for. Her eyes darted back and forth, taking in all my features.
I couldn't stop the smirk forming on my face.
"What?" She giggled, her cheeks turning to a rosy pink.
I kept my hand against her, now warm, cheek. She leaned into my palm, closing her eyes.
"Aly Rose you are so special to me." I whispered. I pulled her face back to mine, and once again connected our lips.
I felt her hands move to my hair, lightly tugging at it. There was no way I could conceal the small whimper that escaped out of my mouth and against hers.
She smiled into the kiss, then pulled away.
I whined at the loss of contact. Then I noticed her turning her head to yawn.
I chuckled, she was so cute, so coy.
"Tired?" I asked.
"Mhm." She nodded, hugging my waist and placing her head under my chin.
I kissed her head. "Let's get you cleaned up and to bed."
Carrying her through my apartment and to my bedroom I sit her on the sink in the ensuite bathroom.
Pressing a cool washcloth to her wounds, she winced. There were a couple light blue-purple bruises and cuts along her perfect face, her tired eyes had slight dark circles under them. Still, she was the most breathtaking girl I'd ever laid eyes on.
As I cleaned her cuts she started drifting off.
"Hey," I whispered. "Sleeping beauty. Stay with me." I chuckled.
She slowly reopened her eyes, smiling for a split second. Her face was still filled with sadness and fear. I just want to make her happier, protect her, I want her to know she's loved.
"I'm so tired Lukey." She whispered, tracing circles on my chest.
"I know angel." I whispered, kissing each one of her injuries.
"Will you help me change?" She asked, her eyes doe like.
Oh my god. Aly was innocent, she was tired and vulnerable, but she still trusted me not to make any advances towards her.
I nodded, and went in the other room to get her duffle bag.
When I returned she was rubbing her arms. "Are you cold?" I whispered. She nodded.
I lifted her top gently. She winced. As I slowly lifted it over her head, I noticed another bruise below her rib cage, this one a bit larger than the others.
No, not another one.
I tired not to stare, but holy hell she was stunning, even like this. I averted my gaze from her breasts to that bruise.
It made my throat tighten up. I looked away from it and let out the breath I'd been holding.
Without saying a word, she cupped my face in her hands, moving it to look at her. Tears were welling in her eyes, and I could feel them in mine as well, I blinked them back.
"You don't deserve..."
She leaned forward and kissed the side of my mouth. "Just take care of me Luke."
I nodded. Unzipping her jeans, and pulling them off her, I finished undressing her. I pushed my needs and wants to the back of my mind. Trust me with her, that was tough.
I went to put one of my t-shirts over her head when she stopped me.
"Wait- will you..." She reached her hand up towards her bra.
My jaw hung open a little, I'm sure I was drooling over her.
She eased herself off the counter, and turned so her back was to me.
I unclasped her bra and watched as it dropped to the floor. She held her arms over her chest.
Placing my hands on her arms, I pressed a kiss between her neck and shoulder. I placed the shirt over her head. It stopped mid thigh.
Right now, wearing my oversized Bon Jovi shirt, hardly any makeup, and her hair natural, Aly looked the most beautiful I'd ever seen her.
I carried her to bed, and when I went to change into a singlet and boxers, she reached out for me and whimpered.
"I'm not leaving you babygirl."
Crawling into bed beside her, she had already drifted off to sleep. I pulled her tight against me, I was the big spoon, my face resting in the crook of her neck.
I kissed her cheek. "Goodnight my love, I'll always protect you."
