Evelyn woke up with a start and winced a bit from the pain in her shoulder. She placed a hand on her bandaged shoulder and touched it gently with the tips of her fingers. She looked around, confused of where she was.

She noticed the room was very large and had heavy curtains covering the windows which unable her to figure out what time of the day it was. She looked up and noticed that she was sitting on a four poster bed with the curtains drawn and tied to the post at all four sides. Who the hell still used four poster beds in the twenty first century?

She had no idea where she was and how she had gotten here. She could faintly remember what happened in the club but where was she? What had happened after she had blacked out? She suddenly heard a sound from the far side of the room and she gasped. She saw the figure of something approaching and she couldn't tell if it was a crawling human or an animal. She slowly shifted away from the approaching figure which was still almost completely concealed by the shadows in the dim room.

The figure drew closer and she finally saw his face as he spoke hoarsely at her. "You awake finally."

Evelyn couldn't hold back anymore when she saw the creature, and she screamed. It was an ugly looking midget that scared her shitless. The midget seemed at loss of what to do and while trying to calm Evelyn down, by scurrying here and there around the bed to reach her, she moved further away from his reach, screaming until she heard the door suddenly fly open and noticed someone flit into room and stopped some distances from the bed.

"Stop screaming!" The person ordered and she stopped immediately, surprised that she had not hesitated in obeying the commanding voice. She looked up and saw the familiar face. It was the face of the vampire she had went looking for in the club.

She hugged her knees and shifted away from both of them as the midget began to pace the room, grumbling in displeasure. "Leave us." Jason ordered the midget who stopped pacing and looked up at him, then he glanced at Evelyn and walked away without a word.

At the door, he stretched to his toes on his little leprechaun shoes to reach the handle of the door then he closed the door after him.

When they were alone, Jason turned back to look at her. "I see that you are finally awake."

"Finally awake?" She asked, puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"You've been out for two days." He said and watched her eyes go round.

"How is that possible? Did you drug me?" She questioned accusingly.

"You were shot at the club, does it ring a bell?" He asked in a quiet voice that showed his prowess and rank in the vampire court.

She looked away trying to remember and when the image of the tattooed biker came to her mind and how he had attempted to rape her, she cringed as she remembered how pale he turned before he finally died. She looked up at Jason and said. "You killed him." She muttered accusingly to him. "I do remember that... You drank from him."

He watched her with his hands behind him. "It was necessary." He simply said, when he saw her frightened look, he added. "Look, if I wanted you dead, two days of your unconsciousness is too long for me to drink you dry."

She hesitated and looked away still scared of him. "Where am I?"

"My castle." He said.

"Why did you bring me here?"

"This is the only place I can treat and watch you. I can't take you anywhere else, as you know, we don't come out in the sun."

Evelyn stared at him for a while. He indeed looked almost pale and she guessed that it was due to lack of vitamin D from the sun. "Can I go home now?"
