Anna stepped forward cautiously. "What's going on?"

"Su Yong..." Evelyn whispered again trying to come to.

The old man crouched beside her as if he couldn't believe what he just heard her whisper and wanted to hear it again and when she whispered it again, he looked up at them in surprise. "She just called my daughter's name...how did she know Su Yong? She died seven years ago." He glanced at Kane who quickly shrugged then he turned to Jalil for answers who was beginning to fan Evelyn with a light book.

"She is a seer?" Sharon asked, puzzled.

Jalil nodded while Evelyn pulled away from his arms and buried her face in her hands, whimpering, her fingers trembling as she slowly came back to reality.

"How come she never told anybody about this all these while?" Kane asked in disbelief.

"Not even me, her best friend." Sharon fumed, feeling betrayed.

"She wasn't sure. She didn't want to believe it was true, she was scared." Jalil replied.

"You knew all these while and you kept if from us!" Sharon snapped.

"What am I supposed to do? Tell the whole world that Evelyn Klein is a seer and she has supernatural powers of seeing your past and the things the ordinary eyes can't see?" Jalil fired.

"...But guys...what are friends for, if not watching one another's backs?" Stated Anna.

"Is Ramsey aware of this?" Kane asked.

"The jerk doesn't know a thing besides sticking his dick in wrong places." Jalil replied tersely.

Just then, the old man sighed having understood what was going on. "I don't know what you kids want but I am willing to render my help all because of her." He pointed at Evelyn who was being helped to her feet by Sharon and Anna.

"Who am i?" she asked in a weak voice.

Everyone turned towards Evelyn's sudden unexpected question.

The old man stared at her for a while. "You are a witch, and just not any witch but a zodiac witch. You are the last kin of Naomi's generational coven who served vampires centuries ago."

"Now that's spooky and crazy..." Kane chuckled.
"...Eve, a witch? you have got to be kidding me, Mr. Yin! I don't know where you are getting this crazy ideas from and your voodoo-woodoo witchy tales, but that's so fucking unbelievable."

The old man gave him a hard warning look that made Kane's amused expression vanish before he continued. "Your clan has the ability to save or destroy a vampire but the last witch ran away to the mountains, she hid in the caves for months after her vampire lover was killed and birthed a baby with the use of magic when she discovered the vampires were almost upon her and she named and transferred her powers into the baby with her last breath."

Evelyn couldn't quite believe her ears. "You mean...I'm a witch?" she stammered. "Am I that baby birthed with the use of magic?" when the old man nodded, she asked when it dawned on her that her mother must have been pregnant for her vampire lover. "If I am half-breed, why aren't I a vampire?"

"That, I can't answer. Your late mother must have conjured up something to tame your other side. Only witches know how they do their thing."

Eve exhaled sharply and asked. "Why do the zodiac witches work for the vampires? What do they do?"

The old man sipped his cold coffee and answered. "For years, the vampires have tried to prevail against the fiery Orb, the sun. That's their highest weakness and because of this, they are left to remain nocturnal.

Though one day, for the price of immortality, a zodiac witch betrayed her kind and offered to help, she was to gather all zodiac signs of the twelve moons and conjure several demons into them and imprison this zodiac demon possessed signs into an ancient ring but to make it everlasting, she was to sacrifice what no one, not even her knew to make the ring immortally potent but she tried to play on them and she was killed." He paused and slipped on his hanging glasses.

"The vampires started imprisoning Zodiac witches and forcing them to make this happen but none of them could finish it.
Your mother had an idea, a secret she never shared but when she fell in love with the vampire blacksmith that worked with her and he told her the destruction Vampires could cause if they prevailed against the sun, her allegiance died.

He offered to help her escape her prison, she fled and he was killed and since they think the last Zodiac witch had been killed, they took to returning on the search for Dracula's lair-tomb for he alone will offer the solution to their limited prowl and hunt.

Eve, if they find out you are a zodiac witch, they might want you to continue where your mother left off." He finished.

"But my aunt told me my parents died in a fatal accident." Eve countered.

The old man smiled. "Melissa won't divulge the truth until she thinks you are ready."

Eve gaped in surprise. "You know my aunt?"

"She's a wonderful woman, your mother communicated with her and she found you where your mother hid you in the hollow of a tree far away from where she lured the vampires away from you to be killed." He walked to an artifact and stared at it blankly. "Actually, they thought she hadn't given birth because she was still round." He slapped his stomach to illustrate.

Eve flexed her jaw with a painful but determined look. "Who killed my mother?"

The old man turned slowly to face her. "Trust me child, you don't wanna meet the blood-thirsty demon." He said as a matter-of-fact. "But once you're discovered, he will hunt you! His name..." He drawled. "...is Nigel Steve!"

"...but how do you know all these? You are just an old librarian!" Sharon finally protested, having had enough.

The old man lit another cigarette with a cocky smile but his reply was directed at Evelyn. "For years, I've watched you grow child. Your aunt Melissa and I picked you up after your mother's death and cleaned you up. You and Su Yong were just about the same age but I couldn't keep you, so your aunt decided to take you far away from harm, I'm surprised to see you down here, schooling, I didn't even recognize you until you were in a trance." He chuckled slightly.

Evelyn exchange glances with Jalil who was also struck and taken aback like she was. "How do I find this...Nigel, Mr. Yin?"

"You'll only find him when he finds you."

Realizing where the topic was sliding to, Kane quickly intercepted. "Wo! Wo! Wo! Don't tell me we are going on a vampire hunt...I mean look at us, we aren't witches, werewolves or some supernatural beings, so let's not play heroes."

"Go home y'all! Your first opportunity will come!" the old man dismissed them. "Me gotta go home and rest me old bones...and stay away from the nightclubs, they are crawling with vampires!" he walked to the door and opened it.

Eve sighed, with a last glanced at the picture for the last time and walked out with her friends, each of them, deeply in thought about all they had heard but within them, they held Evelyn in a new light.
