She immediately went for the light but his cool voice stopped her midway. "Leave the lights off."
She regarded him for a while. She couldn't see his face but his glowing silver rimmed eyes were all she could see in the dark. "Am I supposed to talk to you in the dark?"
"I prefer it this way." He simply said.
She glanced around her room. "How did you get in here, anyway?" Before he could reply, it dawned on her and she said again. "Through the window of course. Jason, this is a girl dormitory, and guys are not allowed into the dorm by this kinda time, what if someone sees you?" He didn't reply and she made her way through the dark and slumped down on the bed with a sigh, staring at him. "Are you going to tell me why you came?"
He still didn't reply. It was frustrating not to be able to see his face and read his expression so she stretched her arm to switch on her bed lamp when she suddenly felt him sitting on the bed between her and the bed lamp making her recoil. "Stop doing that!" She chided him. "It scares the wits outta me!"
"Leave the lamp alone." He said calmly.
"And when did you become so sensitive to just lamps, it is nothing compared to the sun." She replied.
He flinched subtly from the mention of the sun, but she didn't notice. "I'm not here to stay for long...I only came to warn you to stay away from the clubs."
She frowned even though she knew that he could clearly see her in the dark, unlike her. "Why?"
"It seems your friend didn't exactly dispose of whatever he cleaned up your blood with. The smell has gotten the other vampires in a frenzy and it isn't long till they find you."
Evelyn became nervous now. "What can I do?" She asked after a slight hesitation.
He sighed and stood up, the bed moving from his weight. "One thing..." He stared down at her. "Try not to bleed."
That was easy, all she had to do was to be cautious around Sharp objects that could draw blood from her body. She stood up too and could somewhat picked out his silhouette in the dark room due to the street lights illuminating her room a puny bit from the window. "Is that the only reason you came?"
He tilted his head to the side and she could only tell his gesture when his silver rimmed eyeballs moved along to the position of his head. He watched her step closer and she reached through the darkness till her hand was on his chest and she gasped softly from the little stream of pleasure that jolted through her body from the mere contact. "I have got to go." He simply said and she heard him swallowing hard. He wanted to tell her that he came because he missed her and also because he felt responsible for her safety but he held back the words because he felt that they would only escalate their need for each other and he wasn't prepared to take her despite her obvious consent.
She moved her hand up on his chest to the side of his neck then to his jaw and he just stood there. "At least kiss me before you leave..." She swallowed hard too, her mouth feeling suddenly dry from the anticipation of what she had just had the guts to ask and not of any man but a vampire who was several centuries old.
He didn't utter a word but his silver eyes remained fixed on her and her urge grew under his gaze, the urge that always drove her wild and made her want to do unspeakable things she had never imagined herself doing with other men. Not even Ramsey. "Kiss me, Jason." She pleaded and urged him as she pushed herself slightly to her toes to meet his lips in the dark.
She was close. Yes, she was just close enough to having his lips against hers and she closed her eyes as she felt him push his head down to meet her lips too. She didn't know why she craved for him like she did but she reckoned that every woman had the pull towards him. She was like a wanton maid around him and she couldn't help it. Her very desire consumed her without mercy and made her very core ache and crave for his attention.
