Meeting Lex had become a daily thing now. We were always hanging out, leaving the house after my mom left for work was my daily routine but this time we were going to do something different.

I threw on a normal white t-shirt, beige cargo pants, and my custom made #YEE sweatshirt, grabbing a random pair of sneakers before I shot out the screen door and into the woods. Now that I knew exactly where I was going, it took me a shorter time to actually get there. Lex and I had put up markers that only we would notice walking through that lead us to our spot.

When I approached the tree I could see her sitting, her back against the rock, hair swooped over to the left side of her face. She turned around, staring at me with those mesmerizing green gems she called eyes, a half smile on her face. She arose and crossed her arms, "You got the stuff, Ameezy?"

I looked at her, we exchanged looks and I walked over to her, revealing a plastic bag from behind my back, "Oh yeah, I got the stuff."

She clapped her hands, rubbing them together, dancing. I shook my head at her and laughed it off. She was weird, I liked that.

She fingered the Nutella she had brought, shoving her finger inches from my face, "You have to try this!"

"I don't even know what that is!" I protested, she raised an eyebrow, "And putting it on a cracker couldn't have worked for you?"

"It would've if we had any left, duh!" She planted her hand on my thigh and giggled, waving her finger in my face, "C'mon, Austin, you know you wanna try it! Just do it!"

"No! I don't know where your finger's been!"

"Mahone! Don't make me! You know I'll do it!"

"I guess you're gonna have to make me then." I smirked and she pounced, flipping me onto my back. She moved her arms to dodge my grabs, poking out her tongue to focus on how she'd make me eat it. Her wrist came down to my mouth but my hand grabbed it, stopping her from approaching even more.

"Dammit, Austin! Why do you have to be so difficult!" She struggled with a smile, grunting at my grip, but her force was stronger than my hold, "Just... taste... it..."

She used both of her arms to come down on my face, putting all of her body weight down on me. And did I mention she was on top of me? I closed my mouth, my lips shut. I shook my head back and forth to get her to try to miss, but she only smeared it all over my face. She stood over me, clamping her hands down over her mouth, fighting back laughter, "Oh, so this is funny?"

"It's not that bad though." Lex backed away, crossing her hands over her stomach and giggling under her breath.

I nodded at her, reaching down at her jarful of Nutella. I scooped some in my hand and she just stared at me, "Austin, what are you doing?"

I mocked her voice with an evil grin, I stared back up at her, "It won't be that bad though."

"You better not, I swear!" She flinched, wiping her face in confusion, "I think its gonna rain."

Out of nowhere it started to pour, thunder booming in the distance. She threw up her hands and marched over to our trashed rock, her hair becoming stringy from the rain beating down on her face. We just stood there, "Now what are we going to?"

I had to shout over the rain. She crossed her arms again, kicking up mud, "I guess we just go home then. So much for snack time."

Lex grabbed her things, screwing the top back on her Nutella. She had a look of disappointment spread across her face, I was still standing there. I had to do something, we just got here and the rain was ruining our time. I cleared my throat, "Hey!"

She paused from walking and turned to me, her clothes were getting soaked. A loud bang, sounded like a shotgun blast, filled the sky, "You know if you don't leave there's a good chance you're gonna get struck by lightning, right?"

I laughed nervously, pushing my wet hair out of my face, c'mon its simple, just ask her, "Do you wanna hang out at my house?"

She stood there with a blank expression tied on her face, just staring at me. I may have stopped breathing, hoping she'd say yes and not that other word, waiting for an answer. She finally shrugged her shoulders at me and began trudging to the path to my house, "Sure."

Happy dance time.
