I ran the towel through my wet, matted hair. I threw on a pair of sweat pants and propped my feet up on my desk, staring at my school work. I tied the towel around my neck, pushing it over my face as I grunted into it loudly. My door creaked open, my mom pushing through.

"How's your school stuff going?" She approached slowly, I panicked, positioning the towel over my bruise. I still hadn't shown my mom or even told her what happened so to be laying around shirtless was pretty risky.

"Uhh..." I stared at the pile of papers I still had to do, I had gotten pretty behind the last few days and my mom didn't know about that either, so I lied, "It's going great, I'm almost done for today."

She patted my shoulder and kissed my cheek, ew mom why, "Well I'm leaving for work, so I'll see you in a little bit. Breakfast is on the counter."

"Thanks, mom. Love you."

"Love you too, sweetie."

I stayed in my chair, hearing my mom walk down the stairs, grab her keys and head out of the door, and drive away. I was in the clear so I ran downstairs, I was starving. I twisted the corner, sliding down the hall and slipping into the wall, smashing into it with a loud thump. I could smell the flat cakes from upstairs and it was making me even more hungry. I stood over the plate, ripping off pieces shoving them into my mouth. I stared out the kitchen window, my thoughts immediately going back to yesterday. How she sung, her voice hit me like an angel's kiss, soft and delicate. Her eyes so deep, so green, so mesmerizing. I couldn't get her face out of my mind, even though it was clearly unhappy, her stares stuck to me. I stopped eating, still staring out to the woods. I thought about her charm bracelet she had dropped, it was sitting on my dresser. I felt guilty for keeping it, I needed to give it back but her dad was a dick. Stay away from my daughter, his voice kept playing over and over in my head. Everytime I heard it I got so pissed. I didn't care what he had to say about it, I was going to see her again.

I headed out into the woods again, I figured if she was there yesterday she would be there today. I retraced my steps, purposefully getting myself lost so I could listen out for her voice. Guitar strings being strummed, the sound bouncing off the trees, I could hear her. In the middle of a song.

"With your hand in mine, we'll soar through the night, and like the dozens of spaceships we'll dance with sattelites. We'll keep our eyes closed and we won't let go, and with the millions of stars we'll will never be alone..."

I didn't know what song it was but it sounded really sweet, with her voice singing it, it sounded heavenly. I paced through the woods, finding her perched on her rock again, slumped over her guitar. This time, I didn't hide. I stood a few feet behind her, waiting until she finished.

"But would you risk some broken bones just to call this place home? This could be home... Well maybe I'm down low, maybe I'm up high, maybe I'm losing my own mind. You know that there are no other two hearts closer than ours. Maybe you'll follow, maybe you'll stay, I'm praying you won't give yourself away. You know that you are the only one I promise the stars... You are."

I crept up closer to her, she eased out of strumming. I tapped her shoulder, her head swung around towards me. She jumped a little, setting down her guitar. I took a deep breath, looking at her made me lose my words. She looked happier than yesterday, more smiley, which was perfect. I bit my lip nervously, here goes nothing, "Hi..."
