(9) A Rude Awakening

"Morning beautiful!" I sit up violently from my bed. Axel stares at me ginning like an idiot. Like an idiot? No, he is one.

"Axel? Wait, what time is it?"

"Does it matter? It's morning." Axel shuffles the blankets off of me.

"Damn it!" I slam a fist on my bed.

"Calm down Princess, you had a nice rest. There's nothing wrong with that."

"There is when I was going to take the crew and settle business!" I can't believe I fell asleep! This is all Axel's fault.

"A.J. walked in just as you fell asleep. He was going to tell you to call off the confrontation anyways. When he saw me with you he almost killed me! Imagine you waking up to a murder scene!"

"How are you still alive?"

"He saw you sleeping and knew that you needed it. Did you know everyone knows about your nightmares? It was weird, A.J. started telling me about them."

"I'll kill him!" That's when something hit me. I slowly turn my head and glare at the idiot. "Why are you laying in my bed?"

"Oh darling." He scoots closer to me, "You wouldn't let go of my hand and you didn't seem so opposed to the idea when I asked you."

I vaguely remember Axel's voice waking me up from my sleep.

"I'm pretty sure I just grunted when you asked me."

"And I took that as a yes." He leaned in to kiss my cheek.

"Get out!" I shove him off my bed.

He got up and rubbing his backside.

"That actually hurt! You should be grateful to your cuddle bud." He grins and runs out of the room dodging the pillow I just threw at him.

"Luv you too!" He calls and shuts the door.

....

"Axel, why did you lie?" Pierce creeps up behind Axel.

"Lie about what?" Axel's face was wiped of the smile he had.

"You left Rin's room after A.J. kicked you out. Then, later in the night, when you heard her screams, you went in to calm her." Pierce glared at Axel. Pierce couldn't understand why he was lying, if he did nothing wrong.

"She doesn't need to know that, does she? Axel winced thinking about Trinity's helpless expression he saw in the middle of the night.

"I just don't understand why you're playing the jerk, when you're actually a decent guy."

"If she knew she woke us up with her nightmares, then she would feel bad. You know she would. She spends a most of her time trying to keep everyone from falling apart. She doesn't feel like she can show you guys her weak side."

"How do you know so much about her? You just met her yesterday."

"Let's just say I've known her longer than she thinks I have."

"....stalker...." A.J. mumbles as he walks by.

"I try my best!" Axel smiles as he dodges from A.J.'s fist.

"No fighting this early in the morning!" I yell, hearing the commotion outside.

"Sorry Ren!" They all yell and I continue to hear another punch.

"Sorry Trinity!" Axel smiles and trips A.J. down the stairs.

"Shut up stupid!" I yell clearly annoyed by this mornings events.
