(24) Viper or Kacy?

"How are you darling?"

"Zane, you can't keep calling me things like that. You have a fiance or did you forget." I laugh into the phone.

"How could I forget how lucky I am?" Zane's words melt.

"So Vicky isn't mad anymore?"

"No, we had a long talk. Apparently we had a communication error. She was just upset and felt I was neglecting her. Which in a way I was."

"Which was my fault entirely." I pronounce in a professional manner.

"I thought we agreed you'd never try to talk in an accent ever again. It's terrible." He laughs.

"I can't help it." I change my voice and attempt to use a British accent. It's true I do suck at accents but that doesn't mean it's not fun to try.

"Darling, no please no."

"You're right ole chap. So sorry."

"That doesn't sound remotely accurate at all."

"Right oh!" I change my voice to an Australian one. "Dingo's!" Okay, so maybe I have no idea how to say anything.

"I'm going to hang up on you."

"Please don't! I miss you."

"I miss you too so how about we get back to the original subject; how are you.? Don't play innocent Killer called me earlier."

"Of course! She'd find any excuse to talk to you." Killer really has a problem with cute men. A.J. is going to have troubles in the future I joke.

"I'm glad she did." Zane sighs and I can just imagine him shaking his head.

"Let me guess she told you I was attacked by some crazy lunatic and thrown off a bridge?"

"Yeah something like that."

"Huh? Never happened."

"You're a bad liar you know."

"You're a bad fake ex boyfriend you know."

"How so?"

"You're engaged, I think that proves my point." I laugh. "And you haven't visited me in ages."

"I was there a week ago! And you haven't kept our promise."

"What promise would that be?"

"Don't act stupid! You haven't went to see Nike."

"I haven't had time to. I was attacked and thrown off a bridge!"

"Good excuse."

"Thank you!" I cheerfully exclaim. "Don't worry though I'll see him.... eventually."

"Make it sooner rather than later. I told you he doesn't have much time."

"I know." I whisper. "I want to go see him alone but with what happened the other day, someone might have to go with me."

"That's a good idea. With our "relationship" off Monster is making it clear he's watching you."

"Yeah that's for sure." I walk into the pool area. Nobody's in here and it's quiet.

"So this Tanner character, what did he look like?" Zane switches the subject back to the original one

"He has black hair and green/ hazel eyes. I know it's terrible to say this but his eyes were mesmerizing. He is tall and handsome. He reminds me of-" I trail off. Tanner reminds me of Axel. It's the eyes that make me think that but their eyes are so similar. It's only a coincidence nothing more. But then again Axel acted like he knew Tanner. His reaction when I mentioned his name was what proved my theory.
