I woke up to a blinding light and an annoying beeping sound. Surveying the room, I saw my parents and violet playing with a bunch of white sea flowers along with Adrian in the bright white room .

When I fully opened my eyes my mother came over to my to my bed and enveloped me into a giant bear hug.

I squeezed her back tight and said" where am I ?"

"you're in the mermaid hospital baby ,they just injected some mirth into your skin. feeling any better?"

"Yeah " I said groggily .

Just then Adrian walked over to my bed and kissed me on my forehead.

Violet scrunched up her face in disgust. I smiled at her.

"So you ready to meet my dad?"
he said snapping back my attention to him.

"yeah ,totally as soon as I get out of here " he smiled back at me.
A nurse came in and told us that visiting hours are over in a sweet honey voice.

Just before leaving, violet came over to my my bed to give me the flowers and said
" these are for you. get well soon ok?"
"ok . " I croak ."

" and also when I get out we will go swimming together ok?"
"ok." she said and skipped happily out of the room.

"ready to swim?"
" sure."
"after 2. 1,2"
After that violent and I speed into the cool Pacific ocean.

I promised that her that we would take a swim together after I came out of the hospital.

"come out ,come out wherever you are!"
I yelled to using my telepathy .
"no I'm not coming out"
violet replied in her best under- water voice.

I giggle and then I spot her ."I'm gonna get you!"
"no way!"
she says and I race her to the shore.

We pop our heads out of the water, and look around if any humans are there.
Seeing no one, we pull ourself onto the sandy shore and wait until our tails dry off and morph back into legs .

Then, my phone rang.

"midnight?"
"yes Adrian this is me "
"are you hungry?"
"yes and I have violet with me"
"look behind you"

I turn around to see Adrian smiling at us ,sitting down on a blanket with a picnic basket on it. Violet sees him and runs to him,splashing water as she goes and hugs him.

I walk over there too, and and start pout like a toddler. Adrian's sees my expression and hugs me and whispers in my ears:
"you're the only girl for me and you know it"

My cheeks flame red and I look down on the peach color of the blanket.

By the time I look up ,violet has already bitten into a apple. I shake my head and start fishing for food in the basket too.
