Midnight's POV

I took a deep breath and collected my thoughts
as I was about to tell my people the truth about what was going on .

"Princess?"
Said a man who was lightly tapping me on the shoulder.
"Were you going to say something? "
He questioned.
"Yes I was , thank you for your concern."
I replied.

" My loyal subjects! "
My voice boomed.
"Yes princess! "
They replied in unison.

I let out a sigh and scanned their nervous faces ,
Young , old and in between.
" The truth is, there is a war raging above us ."
I said .
I gripped Maddie's hand .
A few shrieks were heard , and I think one woman fainted.

" Yes it is true, but what else can we do?"

The stone cover then busted open.
Then a sickly sounding voice wafted through my ears.
"Princess, I know you're in here "
It had something evil sounding about it.

"Who are you!"
I shouted at the voice.
"Oh princess, I believe we've met."
This voice was sounding more and more familiar.

" What do you want with my people!"
My subjects looked deeply terrified.
Some of the men were looking around wearily.

"Oh I don't want your people , I want you"
The voice said while a figure descended towards us.

"Hello Midnight, remember me?"
Mr Matthews .
Adrian's dad.
"Y-yes " I stuttered.
His presence chilled me to the bone.

I had absolutely no idea he was behind everything .

"So you really thought you and your filthy species could get away didn't you ?"
He said with a sinister smile.

"Get away with what?"
I asked , pretending to be clueless.

" Oh, can you believe this girl?"
He chuckles.
"And she calls herself a princess and is totally unaware of anything going on around."

"My people looked at him like he was a mad man.
Which, in fact he was.

But luckily, I was prepared for this .

I smiled silently while I held the blade behind my back.
I swam closer to him while he was ranting about what I didn't
Know and whatnot.

I flung the knife towards him and it went straight
through his stomach .

To my surprise, he took it out and threw the bloody
blade to the floor .
He turned to look at me again.

"You silly little princess "
And then it was like time froze.
He raised his hand and sent a blow to
my face.

I shuddered and rage enveloped
my body.
I pushed away Violet gently as not to
hurt her and she swam into a lady's arms.

She gave me a reassuring look and I went in.

Adrian , please forgive me for what I'm about
to do.
