Adrian's POV

* two weeks later *

The casualties had gone up.
Mostly the south wing of the castle walls had been attacked, so we had lost most of our soilders there.

Other than this war raging in front of me , there was another person that plagued my mind more.
Midnight Marine .

How long has it been ?
One week? Two?
Two weeks and I haven't seen the love of my life .

Cannons fire incessantly in the background and overhead as watch the medics scan the face for fallen and injured soilders.

As much as I try to take midnight off my mind the more her
Beautiful face appears in my head.
It becomes more unbearable by the second.

Out of nowhere,
a messenger swims up to me looking frantic.
"Mr. Mathews?"
"Yes speak" I reply .

"I'm afraid the the king has been shot."

Midnight's POV

How do you reassure a whole nation of people when you can't even reassure yourself?

Here i am telling my people to wait , but deep down more than anything
I want to go and fight out there.

My subjects were getting restless as mermaids don't
Don't like to be confined.
I feel bad for them but they and I both know
that it's for the best.

A middle aged looking man swimmed forward .
"Princess , how much longer will it be?"
It was pointless to lie to them much longer.

Time for the truth.
