'Emma..' Joe asks.
'Yeah?'
'...Will you move in with me?'
I sit on the sofa with my mouth hanging open. Joe looks at the floor awkwardly.
'I mean... You don't have to, I was just wondering...' He trails off.
'Joe....I....I don't think I can...' I mumble.
His face instantly falls and he looks at me.
'Oh... Ok...' He trails off, twiddling his fingers.
'Joe... I'm joking!' I burst out laughing at his face which was now annoyed and happy.
'I hate you!' He laughs with me.
'Of course I'll move in with you.' I whisper, kissing his cheek and getting up off the sofa.
'Where's Caspar?' I ask.
'I don't know... He said he was out with some friend but I don't know who.' Joe shrugs.
'Oh... That's odd. I tried to call Alexa earlier to tell her but she didn't reply..' I think out loud.
'Maybe they're out together.. But why didn't they tell us?' Joe asks me.
I don't answer. Because I'm looking at my phone. Because an unknown number has sent me a photo. A photo of Joe kissing someone.
I drop my phone.
I knew I shouldn't have trusted him.
I knew it.
Of course I let my heart get in the way of logic. Again.
