"This the last box,"Will asks as I hand him the large box.
"Yep,"I say excitedly. He nods and carries the box out the door. I grab my bag and sling it over my shoulder. I look around the room to make sure I didn't leave anything behind. Once I was done checking, I walked out of the room and closed the door. I began to make my way through the hallway.
"Wait, you're really leaving?" I come to a stop when I hear a voice behind me. I turn around and Drew stood in front of me.
"I wasn't lying when I told you." I answer. Drew looks down and shakes his head.
"I thought I would move out before you. " he chuckles. I couldn't help but smile. Drew always turns things into a joke.
He opens his arms gesturing for a hug. I think about it for a second and then give him a hug. I still haven't full forgave him. I pull away first.
"I have to go." I didn't want to stay here any longer.
"Wait," he grabs my arm preventing me from leaving. "I know you haven't completely forgiven me. And I know saying sorry won't work because it didn't work the other times. But, I just know that I love you and I'm going to miss having my little sister here with me." Wow, this is the first brother sister moment we've had all year.
"Love you too Drewie." I smile and continue walking through the hallway.
I finally made it to the living room. I was ready to walk out that door and leave but then I remembered there was one more person I had to say goodbye too.
I head away from the front door. I go to the other side of the room where the door to the kitchen is. I push the door open and walk into the kitchen. I look around the room, I didn't find the person I was looking for. I found someone else.
"Emmie. You're still here." My dad says.
"Where Cassie?" I ask. Instead of saying anything, he points to the back yard. I take that as my answer and walk to the door leading to the back yard. Cassie was planting flowers. This reminds me of the first time we actually had a full conversation.
"Cassie. I'm leaving." I call out to her. She quickly turns around. She gets up and throws off her gloves.
"I'm going to miss you!" She yells as she wraps her arms around me in a bone crushing hug.
"I'm going to miss you too!" I hug her back.
"When you said you were moving out once you turned 18, I didn't think you meant the actual day." She hugs me tighter.
"Promise me you will come visit. At least for me. " she smiles. I nod in response.
"I promise." I am really going to miss her. She lets go of me.
"Call me if you need anything." She says seriously.
"I will." She nods and gives me another quick hug.
"Alright, you should go. Happy birthday sweets!" I say goodbye and leave. I decided to go around the backyard to the front so I didn't have to go inside and see my dad.
I see Will waiting by his car. He noticed me walking from the back. He gives me a confused look.
"Do we not use front doors anymore?" He asks causing me to laugh.
