Jade's POV
Ugh. My head.
A throbbing head and severe headache welcomed me the moment I opened my eyes from sleep. I was with Sally last night when we decided to go to our favorite bar in BGC after we ate dinner to continue our catching up.
Sally has low alcohol tolerance that's why she limits herself from getting drunk.
I remembered everything we talked about last night noong nasa bar kami.
"May problema ba, Jade? I heard her ask after namin makahanap ng pwesto dito sa bar.
Sally was never the type of person na mag-iinitiate ng topic. She'll just observe you then wait for you to spill it out. Kagaya ngayon, she knew me all too well kaya naman hindi ko na kailangan pang magtago dito.
"Dada wants David and I to get engage this year." I said in a monotonous tone.
"W-What?! Why? Alam ba niyang w-wala na kayo?" I knew she'll be shock. Well, ako nga na shock, siya pa kaya?
"You know, Chinese fucking tradition. At ito pa, they want us to get married next year. Ang galing di ba?" I said sarcastically. I can feel my temper is starting to rise as I unveil everything to her.
"Shit. And Tita agreed to this?" She asked with full of disbelief.
"My mom never confirmed it but judging her reaction from our confrontation earlier, parang hindi naman siya tutol. She even got mad at me ng sabihin ko na wala na kami ni David."
"I didn't see this coming." She said while massaging her temples. "But wait, may alam ba si David tungkol dito."
"Yun na nga, Sally. I went to his office bago tayo magkita kanina to confront him pero mukhang wala din siyang alam. I paused to drink the remaining beer that's left on my bottle and continue to talk after. "I don't know what to do anymore, Sally. I mean, David's a great man but I can't just barge into his life again para lang bigyan na naman siya ng sama ng loob. All he's giving me is his love pero sobrang sama ko ba kung hindi ko masuklian yun? You knew I loved him before pero bakit hindi ko maibalik kahit na ang bait-bait niya sakin?" I didn't notice I'm already crying when suddenly I felt my cheeks were covered with tears. I can feel the alcohol's starting to kick in because of the numbness of my lips.
Sally scooted near me and began to soothe my back. "Sshh, tahan na Jade. It was never your fault if nawala na yung nararamdaman mo sa kanya. I mean, it just happened and we all know that never mo naman siyang niloko. And he's even more lucky na gusto mong isalba yung friendship niyo kahit na papaano."
