Chapter Nine

Althea's POV

"Hey! Jade?" I keep on calling her while lightly tapping her cheeks but she just keep on moaning without letting go of her embrace.

Shit! Did she just pass out on me?

I don't really mind her clinging unto me. In fact, we can actually stay like this forever. But I wouldn't want to take advantage of her just because she's drunk and I know, she won't remember a thing when she woke up.

I suddenly felt her body collapsing on mine so I just tighten my grip on her waist to avoid us from falling. My shoulders are starting to hurt and my feet are killing me because of these heels I'm wearing.

"Jade? Uhm, Ms. Tanchingco? Wake up please." I tried to wake her up again but she's still fast asleep. I can already hear her cute soft snores against my neck. Her soft body and warm breath against my skin are giving me pleasure I shouldn't be feeling in the first place. This is all wrong but it also feels so right.

I can't call Batchi using my intercom since I turned it off because she keeps on bugging me while Maricris and I were talking. If only I could just reach it at my back but I couldn't since I'm afraid Jade will slipped from my arms and will definitely fall on the floor.

I'm starting to get sweaty and Jade's too because of the small beads of water that's forming on her forehead. My arms are getting numb from our position which God knows how long we've been doing. My eyes darted from the chair that Jade was trying to grasp earlier. I tried reaching it but it's too far from where we are standing. I don't know why all of a sudden, no one's passing by or at least thinking to go to the powder room.

Ba't naman kasi sa lahat pa ng pwedeng CR, dito pa sa may bandang likod. Kayakap ko nga si Jade, hirap na hirap naman kami sa position namin. Pambihirang buhay 'to, oo.

So with all the strength I could muster, I tried to walk, slightly lifting Jade off her feet and not breaking our position. I almost tripped because I accidentally stepped on her gown; good thing I was able to balance my self and finally grasp the chair that we've been trying to reach.

I carefully sat Jade down and tried to unclasped her arms from my nape but she'll just hold on to me tighter causing me to lean down on her. If you were to view from behind, you'll think that we're kissing because of our position.

Our faces were only centimeters apart and I can already taste her sweet breath with a hint of beer because of our near proximity. I keep on staring at her luscious lips that were slightly open and I'm dying to taste a bit of them even just for a split second but I controlled myself. So I just turned and fixed my gaze on her peaceful sleeping face.

God, she's so beautiful even with her eyes close.

Ilang santo at ilang tawag ko sa pangalan ng Diyos para lang mabigyan ako ng sapat na lakas ng loob para mapigilan ang sarili ko.

Hindi ko rin maintindihan kung bakit inom ng inom 'tong babaeng ito kanina. I was glancing at her the whole time at napansin kong sunod-sunod niyang ininom yung bote ng SanMig light habang nakikipag-usap kay Sally. Nagulat na lang ako ng paglingon ko, nakatingin na siya sa akin. I couldn't read her reaction since malayo din ako sa table nila but when she looked away and stood up, nasiguro kong lasing na ito.

I actually forgot Maricris was in front of me since all I wanted to do was to run on Jade's side and hold her. When I noticed Jade's already wobbling while walking her way to the powder room, I guess, I instantly excused myself from Maricris and trailed Jade behind.
