Chapter Thirty-Four

Jade's POV

A week had past and I can say that, I can never be any happier. Everything is going to its perfect place. The bond I have with my family is getting stronger everyday. Kung noon masaya kaming pamilya, ngayon masasabi ko na mas masaya sa amin ang lahat. I can say that we already moved on from our past.

Deepest, darkest but the most meaningful one.

Especially for me.

Kaya ngayon na nagiging okay na talaga ang lahat, I can feel my heart get overwhelmed with just a mere thought of it. I'm still yet to fulfill everything I wanted but I am taking it slow. One step at a time. Hindi naman ako nahihirapan dahil sa mga espesyal na tao na nakapaligid sa'kin. From my family, up to my boyfriend.

Jayson has always been the consistent guy ever. Kahit ngayong sinagot ko na ito, hindi pa rin ito nagbabaho. He's always been my go-to-guy. Wala pa rin itong palya sa paghatid-sundo sa kanya. Sinisiguro nito na ito ang laging maghahatid sa kanya. Mabuti na lang at hindi ako naghire ng driver dahil panigurado, mawawalan ito ng trabaho.

But I am not complaining. In fact, his consistency made me like him. His patience made me realize that he's worth it. Sa dinami-dami ng rejection na tinanggap nito mula sa'kin, hindi ito sumuko kaagad but instead he got more persistent. And I thank him for not giving up on me that easily. He waited for me kahit hindi ko siya binibigyan ng dahilan para hintayin ako. Kahit alam niyang hindi ko masusuklian ang pagmamahal niya, he still went for it.

Not like her. Not like Althea.

Before I could have think of her, I heard my phone rang against my table. I saw Jayson's name flashing on the screen which instantly brought smile to my face.

"Hey, gorgeous!" He greeted me upon answering his call. I rolled my eyes ceiling-ward though he can't see me.

"Hi hon! Why'd you call?" I answered, still with a huge grin.

"Why? Can't I call my beautiful princess?" He cooed and I can imaging him, pouting at me.

"Cut it, Jay." I jokingly said. "What is it? Do you need anything?" I added.

"Nah. I just called because I miss you." I smiled. "Jade, can I take you out for lunch?" He asked and I can sense his reluctancy. He's always like this. It has been a week already since I made us official, but every time na magyayaya itong kumain sa labas, parang nahihiya pa ito.

"I'd love to, hon." I replied sweetly. I'm really trying my best to be sweet to him dahil gusto kong maging comfortable siya sa fact na kami na.

"Really? Great! So I'll pick you up at 11?" He said giddily, making me giggle. Para siyang bata na nabigyan ng candy dahil naramdaman ko yung excitement niya.

"Sure, hon. I'll just wait you here in my office."

"Okay. I love you, baby." He uttered sweetly and I felt my heart pounded hard. I'm pretty sure it's not because of his overwhelming sincerity but that endearment brings so much memories to me, aside from the fact that this is the first time he used it. Hearing it from other people makes me shiver and it felt not so right. Parang feeling ko siya lang may karapatang tumawag sa'kin ng ganoon.

"Jade? You still there?" Jayson's concern voice from the other line brought me out from my trance.

"Uh- Yes, Jay. I'm still here." I answered him, still trying to calm the erratic beating of my heart.
