Over the course of a few weeks Zak had stopped staying at mine and holed himself up at home. Rarely coming into the office, I called around everyday but never got an answer from him. Cece his personal assistant was there somedays but said that I'd just missed him.
I wondered if I had done something, if it was me and I had pushed him or upset him somehow.. Natural worrier, I went over the conversation countless times and came back with nothing.
Last week I dropped off a key to his, it was my house key. Just incase he wanted to come over in the night.. Let himself in to the spare room.
Each morning I flew from my bed and checked the spare room but found no change. I'd then wander back to my room disheartened and lonely.
He was rejecting my calls and ignoring my messages. It was personal as he responded to Aaron's and Nick's. With the season break now in, it was just a case of waiting until the next season started.
I continued going to the office, day in and day out doing my work. Dropping Aaron's orders off to his house, dropping lockdown information to Zak's. That included knocking on his front door and leaving it there. I'd wait for almost an hour just to see him open the door.
But he never did and I always left with an ache in my heart.
I'd never felt loneliness not until I was home alone with nobody to talk to or call. Kate was hard at work and if she wasn't then she was with Aaron. I was happy that those two finally got their acts together and were in the process of going on dates. I only knew that from Aaron asking me a million questions each time determined to get it right for her.
Kelly was no more from what I could work out. She hadn't said a word and the last I heard about that website.. It was being dealt with by Zak's legal team.
Which left me.. On my own for yet another day and night.
I re-arranged my wardrobe, even set out work clothes to casual clothes and putting all my black items together. I sorted my lingerie draw, cleaned the house furiously and went in every cupboard cleaning it. Even the fridge saw some love as I cleaned it all out.
By the time night hit I was bouncing my knee chomping at the bit just to go around Zak's house and scream at his door until he opened it. I cooked myself dinner and plated up a second plate. Placing it back in the oven I sat down and ate alone.
How depressing has my life become?
The longer I sat there the harder I stabbed the chicken breast and shoved it in my mouth. I snapped.
Grabbing my keys and the plate I headed to Zak's to scream at his front door. At least I'd feel better if nobody else did.
I kept to the speed limit which I found increasing difficult, due to the fact I wanted to put my foot down and fly over there to rant at him as soon as possible.
I pulled up to the gates to see the security guard Andy.
"Hey Brit you here to see Zak?" He asked coming out of the podium.
"Sure am."
"He's just come back. I did wave up but he's preoccupied I think. I'll buzz you through." He smiled.
The gates opened for me and I thanked Andy before heading to Zak's.
So the rat bag is home..
I pulled up at his and got out charging up to his door. I walked away realising I was too angry to do this. Way to angry.
I went to go to my car but I ended up knocking his front door and waiting.
And waiting.
And waiting..
I knocked again, and still didn't get an answer.
Then I decided to start pounding on his door.
"ZAK OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW!" I yelled at the black heavy wooden door.
"I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE! WHY ARE YOU AVOIDING ME?!"
"ZAK!"
"FINE YOU KNOW WHAT!"
I went to my car and grabbed his dinner putting it on the doorstep.
"I MADE YOU DINNER BUT YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE!" I shouted before storming away and getting back into my car.
"Fuck sake Brit!" I shouted at myself punching the wheel. I got back out and returned to his door.
"Okay!! I'm sorry! You're not an asshole! Zak I'm worried! Is it me? Have I done something?! I know you're getting my messages!"
I put my forehead against the door waiting for a response but got none.
"YOU KNOW HOW STUBBORN I AM! I WILL STAY HERE ALL NIGHT IF I GAVE TO!"
After 5 minutes I was still stood there..
"FINE!" I yelled sitting on the doorstep.
I planned on staying here until he opens this goddamn door, I'm as stubborn as a mule. If it meant I stayed outside all night or camped outside his front door then so be it!

4 hours later.....
I was bumping my head against his door through boredom. It was now really late and the temperature has dropped. Several occasions I thought about going him but then I remembered why I was here.. For him.
I just seriously hoped he opened up soon before I caught a cold or was attacked by some wild animal.
