Chapter 17

(Christy's POV)

It has been a week since Adam apologized to me. Things have been going great.

The thing is that I've been bored at home ever since I stopped being on The Voice. Since I have my nursing degree that I received from college, I decided to apply for a job at City of Hope hospital of Los Angeles. I've always wanted to be a doctor, aside from the singing. I had sent my resumé online and they called me in for an interview today. I'm super duper nervous.

I woke up early today to prepare, dressing in a formal attire with a light amount of makeup.

As I drove to the hospital, I ran through the possible questions they might ask me. Preparing for the worse that may come.

As soon as I arrived, I texted Adam, letting him know that the interview is going to start.

He texted back: "Good luck! :)"

I smiled at the text and took a deep breath before entering into the huge hospital.

I walked over to the front desk to see a lady with short brown hair in her mid-40's.

"Hi, good morning. I'm here for an interview with Mrs. Jones."

"Name please?" She asked with a warming smile. Wow. People here seems really nice.

"Christy Harris." I replied.

"Okay." She said after checking on her computer. "Please take the elevator to your left to the 10th floor and someone else would be able to assist you from there." She told me, gesturing toward the elevator.

"Thank you." I replied, heading towards the lift.

When I got in the elevator, I pressed the button with a 10 on it, but someone had already pressed it. The elevator was packed with people. As we slowly went up, people got off on different floors.

"You must be Christy Harris." A deep voice said behind me.

I turned to face a doctor in his late 30s. "Uhm, yes I am." I replied, confused, not really sure how he knows me.

"It's nice to meet you," he said giving me his hand to shake. I shook it. "I'm Dr. Jason Reynolds. The neurosurgeon on the 10th floor." He said giving me an award-winning friendly smile.

"Oh. It's nice to meet you, too. I here for the interview today."I replied.

"Yeah, I've heard." He said as the elevator stopped on the 10th floor. "I'll see you around and good luck." He said before we headed our separate ways. I could really get used to this place. He seems really friendly. That's a good thing right?

I walked over to another reception desk and asked for Mrs. Jones.

She picked up the phone and called, who I am guessing is Mrs. Jones.

"Right this way." She said as she lead me towards a room. I followed behind her, taking plenty of deep breaths.

She opened a wooden door and wished me good luck. I thanked her and walked in.

I took a seat in front of the large oak desk, directly in front of Mrs. Jones.

"Good morning." I greeted her with a smile as the interview was soon to start.

The interview lasted about 30 minutes, consisting of the usual questions and stuff. The entire time I had butterflies in my stomach, but thankfully it's finally over. She said that I'll be starting my job in a few days and my orientation starts tomorrow at 10:00 am.
