Chapter 16

(Christy's POV)

I woke up early to the sound of cars honking, traffic hour in New York. My flight wasn't until 12:30 back to Los Angeles. It was only 8:45.

I got ready and walked out into the living room. I immediately spot Chrissy cooking breakfast in the kitchen.

"Want me to help?" I asked.

Chrissy turned around, surprised to see me, "Sure. Can you help me crack 4 eggs."

I walked over to the refrigerator and got 4 brown eggs an cracked them into a bowl and whisked it.

All night I've been debating about telling her what happened. Chrissy deserves to know what happened last night, after all that she's done for me. Especially letting me stay overnight, the least I could do was tell her.

"Uhmm.. About last night... After I left your apartment, I was heading back to the hotel and I saw Adam with... he was with his ex, Behati." I said carefully, while whisking the eggs.

"It's okay Christy, it's his loss." She said while caressing me, stopping whatever she was doing. She knew exactly how I felt. She caught on fast.

"It's just... I just thought he actually loved me. I trusted him with everything. I actually loved him, but he just played me like I was just a game." I said with my eyes watering as I remembered everything that happened last night.

"Move on. A guy like that doesn't deserve to be loved." Chrissy continued to comfort me.

I was thankful I had a friend like Chrissy. She was more than I could ask for.

We finished eating breakfast and before I knew it, I had to leave. My flight was in 2 hours. I packed my stuff, only realizing that I still have other stuff at the hotel. Should I go back? That means I'll have to face Adam. The thought of that made me feel sick to my stomach.

I decided to leave it. I called a taxi to the airport.

"Where to ma'am?" The driver asked, looking into the rear view mirror.

"JFK airport, please." I replied, politely.

15 minutes into the drive, my phone vibrated. It was a text from James.

It read: "hey Christy, have you seen Adam?"

I sighed and replied, "No, why don't you go ask Behati."

Minutes later, James decided to call me. I answered.

"What do you mean? Why do I need to ask Behati? What does she have anything to do with Adam right now?" James asked, confused.

"Maybe she's in bed with Adam. I don't know. I saw Adam and Behati together last night after you guys went to the bar." I explained.

James remained quiet, maybe trying to process what I just said.

"Adam cheated on me with Behati. I don't know if he was that drunk or whatever, but I don't love him anymore!" I nearly shouted. The taxi driver was giving me weird looks by now. "He cheated on me and that's that. It's been done. He can't do what he did last night and not meant it. I'm leaving back to Los Angeles right now." I said, this time quieter.

"Adam would never do that! He loves you. I'm not sure how many shots he had, but he had a few or maybe more than a few. I know Adam really well. I know how much he loves you. He tells me about you all the time. He's always saying how caring, gorgeous and lovable person you are. I can also see it in his eyes when he looks at you. He looks at you differently than he has with any other girl he's dated. Whenever he is with you, I see something in his eyes that I've never seen before. Look, bottom line is that he truly loves you. I'll try to go find Adam and maybe clear some things out between you guys. But what Adam did last night, he wouldn't have want that to happen on purpose." James said.
