A/N: Keeeepppp it going.

"And done!" I hear Josh clicking the pen as he finished writing down both our names on The Board.

"Good now we can leave" I exclaim happily and start walking away with Alexis following me.

"I can't believe you're actually volunteering Jess, that's like..." She pauses trying to come up with a word.

Alexis isn't the brightest pumpkin in the patch, if you get what mean, but I love her.

"Yes Lex I know, but Josh wants to do this and I guess it won't be too bad" I tell her.

Besides, who knows I may even like it there.

"I'm going to miss you" she pouts.

"I know me too, I won't be gone too long. Maybe a few months, tops."

That's roughly the amount of time I will be there, because honestly I have no clue what will happen when I'm at the Blood Shade pack.

After saying bye to Alexis, I'm went up to my room, and started packing my suitcase. Surrounding myself with clothes, toiletries and electronics as well as my thoughts.

Its the strangest thing how out of the blue, Alpha Elijah needs warriors, I mean the rogue attack couldn't have been that bad. How was he not 'prepared' for it. He's the most ruthless Alpha any werewolf knows of, which is why other packs including my own steer clear of the Blood Shade.

Shivering slightly as I repeat the name in my head. Blood Shade pack. Alpha Elijah.

Ruthless

Cruel

Protection

Oh my pickles.

I'm going to the Blood Shade pack.
Volunteering as a warrior, to help and protect a pack I've never been to, to protect an Alpha I've never met.

Wow. Am I that stupid? Sometimes I really think my head is up my aśš.

A knock on my bedroom door interrupts me from my thoughts.

"Jess can I come in?" I smile at the sound of my dad's voice.

"Yeah come in."

"Hey Sweet Tart how are you doing?"
he asks me.

That's the nickname he gave me ever since I was little. My dad is always so calm and collective. He always knows whats going on and is definitely one of the nicer people around here.

"I'm good, kinda tired though" I say responding in a sleepy voice, but I muster up a quick smile.

My Dad just chuckles and starts ruffling my hair saying "Me too, me too."

"Yeah that's because you're always doing something for Alpha Demetre now, we never do anything together anymore" I tell him.

Frowning at the realization of much I missed spending time with my dad. We were always doing things, going out places and training together, but that all slowed down the moment my mom left us when Josh and I were six years old.

My mom and dad met when they were eighteen and knew they were mates, fell madly in love and a couple years later, Josh and I were born.

I don't remember much about my mom, nor my childhood. It just goes by so fast that you don't even get a chance to stop and capture the moments and the memories. To keep them locked away in your brain so you can replay all the good things that happened in your life. Time is everyone's worst enemy. We all know that.
