Ashton

The ride to the precinct was terribly quite. There was subtle, quiet conversation and only the police radio to listen to. I had no idea what was going on, all I knew is that I wanted to be back home with the boys, playing FIFA and stuffing our faces with one-day-old pizza.
I never laid a hand on Cameron. Now I wish I would have, stirring here in this plain white interrogation room. He deserves to be punched. He hurt Shay, the most innocent girl I've ever met. The most beautiful I've ever seen, even I don't deserve someone like her.

...

"Ashton Irwin?" Officer Bigs called out. He was older. Covered in wrinkles, and grey hair, almost hard to look due to the many bags that sagged under his delicate eyes. He held a coffee and the case file in his shaky, white hands.

"That's me, Sir," I nodded politely, waving my hand cuffed hands to him as he closed the door.

"Let's just cut to the chase," he coughed, took a drink of his coffee, then continued. "I know my son, and I know how he acts and feels for this girl. I know that he only did this to get her back, and you out of the picture. I'm no idiot."

"Thank you, Sir," I smiled, glad that I'm not the only one who sees that.

"But I also know that she's good for him. He's been drinking an awful lot, and that's what led him this to get this far. So if it's okay with you, we can let him off completely. No charges, nothing on his record. Just a few rehab classes."

My smile faded. They can't do that! He tore up the rest of my family's pictures, all the memories we had, they're gone because of him. All because he's stupid and didn't realize what he had until she was in someone else's hands.

"L-let him off?" I stutter. I try to keep the rage out of my voice. I need to get out of the hand cuffs as soon as possible. He nods.

"He wrecked my home, he put Shay and I in danger!" I exclaim, they can't do this.

"Look, I'm not picking sides here. I know very well that my son is in the wrong, but there's hardly a case here. You ruined the evidence of him ever destroying the living room, you should have called right when it happened." he explained. He was right.

"Then let him off," I mutter. I look away from him, and stare at myself on the two way glass.

The officer reached across the table to release me from the cuffs. I gave him a gentle smile and walked out to the room behind him. He took me to the waiting room, where Shay sat in the corner her head against the wall fast asleep, along with the boys who sat next to her. She wore one of her new outfits I haven't seen before, her hair was a mess. God, she still looked beautiful.

"Oh thank god!" Luke cheered and stood up from his seat. "We thought you were going to jail, Mate." The boys stand up along beside Luke.

"They let him off," I say, irritation present in my voice.

"Let him off?" Claim furrows his eyebrows. I nod.

"There's barely a case, and it's not worth fighting for." I say simply. Making my way though the boys, I shake Shay lightly.

"She been sleeping since we got here, she's beat." Miley says, noticing I've been staring at her.

"Hey, princess," I shake her again. "can you wake up?"

Her beautiful blue eyes flutter open, regaining realization of reality.

"Ashton?" she mumbles, still half asleep. I smile at her. she reaches out and hugs me tightly.

"Its me, Shay." I give her a tight, loving squeeze. It's never felt so good to hug her.

"I'm sorry about, Cam." Sleep was still in her voice. "I never meant-"

I cut her off, "don't apologize for that idiot. I already have a plan B."

Her smile is present on her face again, her one dimple popping out, her hair covering most of her face. She never looked more beautiful then she does right now, in this moment. With the boys staring at us, police running around the station like mad men, but in this moment I've never seen her smile so perfect, so innocent.

"What do you say we go? Back to the apartment and sit in my room and talk about everything until the sun comes back up?" I ask, reaching my hand for her reach. Without hesitation she takes it and we walk out of the Station.

...

Shay

We had arrived back at the apartment, nothing had changed. I run to the room and jump on the bed and wait for Ashton.

After a few moment, I hear the front door shut.
For the first time since I've been here, There was no FIFA playing on the TV in the living room, and none of the boys were screaming. All I heard was foot steps coming towards the room. It was too peaceful.

"Not the way I had planned to spend our Saturday, but I guess it all worked out," he giggles.

"Where are the boys?" I ask. Ashton laid down beside me, leaving hardly any room between us.

"They're staying with Gracie and Sky on their campus for the rest of the weekend," He rubbed my head, with his large warm hands. "They wanted to give us privacy." I add.

"So, what do you say we turn on some music?" he gets up from the bed and turns the radio on.

He was wearing a black Guns and Roses shirt, with the usual black jeans and boots. He hair was a fluffy mess, but it was perfect. Everything in this room was perfect.

He lays down on the same spot on the bed. We both look at the ceiling, listening to anything that came in the radio. We must have laid there for what felt like hours, nothing but the radio,
no words were spoken. Then that's when I realize.

I haven't cut in two months.
Two months ago I left Cameron.
Two months ago, I had found the most perfect guy.
The most perfect friends.

With that in mind, I also realize that I want Ashton more than ever.

I'm ready for Ashton to love me.
I'm ready, because I love him back.

A/N: cheers to a very much needed update! sorry I kept you guys waiting so long ! // thanks so much for 6k reads! :-)
