Hero(Yato x reader)

You'd known Yato for a while and you two had grown quite close despite the fact that you could forget about him if you spent too much time apart. You were the only full human who could see him ( hiyori is half human and half phantom) you'd been wandering around the streets as you finally saw it .... a phantom, you screamed and tried to run away but it was much faster than you so by the time you'd reached the next block it threw you against the wall as you coughed up blood. You screamed and cried for help but all your cries had been in vain, you'd lost all hope and was ready to die until ... he appeared. He had saved you , you stared at him in awe as he defeated the phantom and went to your aid . From that day on he'd become your hero, saving you whenever you needed saving which surprisingly happened quite often . You never knew his name until one day you questioned him as he smiled and said four simple letters that now made your heart flutter 'Yato' . From that day on you began talking with him and before you knew it you'd been dragged into a world filled with gods, regalias and phantoms yet you didn't mind for you considered him and everyone else you'd met in your new life as family. You arrived at Kofuku's place as she gleefully greeted you " Y/N- SAN!" She hugged you as you giggled " ohayou ( morning), have you seen Yato?" She grinned "oh Yatty's upstairs." You nodded as she grinned even more " ne, y/n- san do you have a crush on Yatty?" You blushed as your eyes widened " i-ie ( no)" you quickly shook your head as she chuckled " you should tell Yatty one of these days, I'm certain he likes you too" your eyes widened " n-nani? ( what?)"

" nandemonai ( nothing)" she smirked as she pushed you towards the staircase" go talk to Yatty" you shrugged as you made your way up the staircase. Once you arrived you saw a blushing Yato with his hands behind his back " Y-Yato?" You muttered as you walked closer to him " what do you have behind your back?" You tried peering over his shoulder to see what was the object in his hands . He quickly moved as you sighed " Yato, what's that?" You tried reaching out for it as he moved once again " n-nandemonai" you grew even more curious as you attempted once again to reach for the object behind his back.

The next few minutes consisted of you attempting to get the object as he moved you sighed as you tried another tactic and tackled him to the ground . You quickly got the object as you furrowed your brows in confusion, it was an envelope . Yato's eyes widened as he realized you'd taken the envelope he quickly tried reaching for it but you'd just raise it higher, away from his reach.

" Yato what's going on?" You mumbled as he blushed even more. "Ehm I-I.." You motioned for him to go on as he sighed and motioned towards the envelope. You opened it and found a folded letter on the inside ,you unfolded it and carefully read the words:

Words have never been my expertise as you probably know but I guess I'll try my best for you. Your smile would always make me feel as if there wasn't anything wrong with the world it made me feel at peace, your laugh made me smile and try my best to make you laugh just to hear that beautiful laugh once again, your personality made me stare in awe as I realized how beautiful you truly are. So please let me be the one to save you, let me be your knight in shining armor, your hero. I love you, y/n.

You stared in awe at the letter as you hugged him, burying your face in his neck " Yato.." He wrapped his arms around you as you smiled "hai?" You raised your head so you could see him " I love you too" you watched as his lips curved into a smile as he began tracing your features " you're so beautiful, you know?" You blushed as he began kissing your features , from your eyes to your nose , to your blushed cheeks until he reached your lips and gently kissed you, you both smiled through the kiss until a voice startled you " eh Yato can I leave now?" You both turned around to see Yukine in a mariachi costume . " you saw nothing" he muttered as he awkardly walked away.

" ehm should I ask?" You giggled as Yato shook his head " nah let's just enjoy the moment" he pecked your lips as you smiled " I love you, Yato. You are my hero always have and always will be" his lips turned into a smile " I never get tired of hearing that, Say it again." He muttered as you shook your head teasingly "nope" he pouted " pweaseee" he gave you puppy dog eyes as you gave in " fine, I love you Yato... My hero" he smiled " and I love you Y/n"
