( long awaited)Tsundere! Ilumi Zoldyck x reader part 1

You kick a pebble and tsk under your breath. " treating me as if I'm scum. I'll show him.." You kept on walking while tightly clutching your messenger bag, filled with paper work. " show who?" You stopped in your tracks at the sound of an all too familiar voice. You grit your teeth " what do you want?"  He shrugged "  what's that you've got there... Paperwork?" He laughs " Look at her, thinks assassin's do such things as paperwork"

You feel angry tears pricking your eyes, you quickly  try blinking them away. However it's far too late and he's seen them. " pft and you call yourself a real assassin" he laughs while you sprint away not wanting to hear another word from him. You arrive home and shut the door with such force, that you're certain everyone heard it. You groan in frustration and throw whatever is around you " damn Ilumi! " you punch the wall yet feel no pain due to your anger.

You throw yourself on your bed and throw one of your two pillows " I won't let him get to me, I can't let him get to me" you close your eyes hoping sleep can drift you away to the land of dreams. " he'll see.."

You rub your temple and grit your teeth, of course the bastard had to ruin your morning as well. You crumple up the sticky note and throw it in the bin. The note was offensive to say the least, how did you know it was from the one an only Illumi? Well the bastard made sure to sign the note and place it on an item you thought you'd lost. Of course, by you thought you lost it I mean he stole it. You sigh and spin on your chair " why can't he just leave me alone?"

"L/n-san!" You groan, what is it now? " ....what?" Your boss holds up one of your earrings while you furrow your brows in confusion "Hiro-san wh-" he quickly cuts you off by scowling at you " I found this in my vandalized office last night" you stand up, all your thoughts about the black haired male being pushed to the back of your head. " sir, what do you mean it got vandalized? And why was my earring there?" You frown while he glares at you " oh, you know what I mean. You delincuent" you tilt your head in confusion 'delincuent?' 'what's going on?' "Hiro-san.." He cuts you off by throwing the earring in your direction " you're fired" with those words having been said, he leaves . Giving you no other option but to take in the news.

Your knees suddenly feel weak at the thought  and your body collides with the ground. " no, this can't be happening" tears now threatening to fall from your eyes, blurring your vision while you shake your head " no, I couldn't have gotten fired, right? Right?" The tears start falling, slowly one by one until they soon turn into a waterfall.

Some of your ex co-workers, glance at you and give you a sympathetic smile. Yet their smiles do nothing to help you from your shocked and despaired state.
You sob until an all to familiar laugh sounds. You clench your fist " what do you want now?" He laughs once again " nothing, just seeing the fruit of my labour" you grit your teeth, so it was his fault. You stand to your feet and attempt to punch him but to no avail, he was far too fast and you were far too weak at the moment. He clicks his tongue while shaking his head " Out of all the things I thought you were, the word thief had never gone through my mind yet here you are " you wipe your tears start packing your stuff. " aren't you gonna say something?" You Proceed to packing your things while he scowls " are you deaf?" He taps your arm " oi, didn't you hear me?" All his attempts to get your attention are in vain making his blood boil. He pulls your shoulder back making you react. You slap him, the sound resonating throughout the small office, gasps are heard while Illumi stand there shocked. " can you just get off my ass for one godamn moment? What is it that you want from me? I tried being nice to you but all you've ever done is insult me! Do you even know anything about me at all?! Besides -" " your favourite ice cream is f/ic ( fave ice cream)"

You clench your jaw " what?" " I said your favorite ice cream is f/ic, are you deaf , baka?" A light blush tints his cheeks while you furrow your brows" h-how did you know?" He puffs his cheeks  " I don't need to give bakas like you an explanation" you shake your head " whatever" you grab your box and turn to leave while Illumi fiddles with his fingers ' did I go too far this time?' ' she was devastated and it was my fault..' He sighs ' I'm supposed to make her smile not cry, what the hell is wrong with me?' Different thoughts start going through his mind until he realizes that all he's doing is losing time. He quickly scrambles towards the exit. He takes the stairs, silently hoping he'll get there sooner than you. You sniffle while clutching the box close to your chest . However your mind couldn't help but drift off to your last encounter with Illumi. It was different... Than usual to say the least. The elevator dings and soon enough the metal doors open . You step outside only to be greeted by a panting Illumi.

" we...." He wheezes while you stare at him, completely and utterly shocked"need.....to...." He holds his hand up, motioning for you to give him a minute. You knit your brows in confusion while Illumi pants once more " talk" you stare at him dumbfounded while he sighs. " I-I'm s-sorry..." He blushes " All those times I teased you were because I.... I....ehm... I....l-love you. I know it's difficult to believe but I-"nani?" He puff his cheeks and looks to the other side " stop making me say it so much,baka! I already said it, I love you and I'm sorry" you grin and wrap your arms around him . He shyly and hesitantly wraps his arms around "I thought you hated me" you give him a smile " I did too however I'm not like most people, I actually give second chances even to assholes like you however we're just going to be friends for now"

He nods at first until he realizes what you said " hey!" He pouts making you giggle " shut up tsun tsun, next time can you at least tell me this when I'm free rather than getting me fired " he rubs the back of his neck " yeah, ehm sorry about that" his voice is barely audible making you grin " sorry, what was that?" His cheeks redden making you giggle " I'm not saying it again, you idiot" you pout " is it really necessary to keep insulting me?"

" no..  I mean yes, I mean -" you giggle while cupping his cheek making his eyes widen " you look so cute when you're flustered, Tsun Tsun. Now if you excuse me I must go because someone" you glare at him " made me lose my job"  you slowly walk away while he stands there dumbfounded " wait!" He quickly jogs towards you " can we ehm.. See each other again. You know so I can help you get a job not because I want to see you, I mean it's not that I want to see you anyways" his cheeks turn red once again " well if you don't want to see me-" you turn to leave making his groan " wait, Fine I do want to see you just don't tell anyone" you grin, your back facing him . " fine but you have to promise to stop insulting me"

" fine, ba-" you turn around making him stop mid sentence " What was that?" He puffs his cheeks while diverting his gaze to the ground " n-nothing" you grin " that's what I thought. Meet me here tomorrow at 7 don't be late or else you're dead to me " he gulps making you mentally giggle . You wave while walking away " bye Illumi-kun" leaving a confused and dumbfounded Illumi.

I am so sorry for taking so long with writing this one,I've simply been so busy with school lately, anyways this was requested by @Yvetfs hope you like it .
