Logan's P.O.V:
I felt along the walls around the examination room and found a weak spot on the wall. My claws came out and I was about to cut through when I heard Jeans voice.
"Logan, don't do it, the rubble could hurt Storm more."
I turned around to see Jean leaning on the wall opposite of me "I'm not bustin' down the whole wall Jean, just a little section of it."
As if on cue Scott shows up and stands beside Jean "Jean's right Logan, it might hurt Storm or it could hit Hank, and if Hank's hurt who will help Her?"
Finally after an icy glare I swallowed my pride and walked back to the door of Ro's examination room. I heard The Professor approaching so I walked over to him to finally question what was wrong.
I crossed my arms "so, are you here to tell me what was bugging you on the ride back?"
The Professor nodded "did you find it strange how easy it was to rescue Ororo?"
Now that I thought about it, the escape was very easy, there were no mutants trying to stop us, it was just men with guns.
"Yea, it was easy."
Professor Xavier frowned "there were very powerful mutants there Logan, I sensed Mystique, Sabertooth, and a few dark brotherhood members."
The memory of Ro thinking I was Mystique came back to my mind "Ro said somethin' about Mystique being there, from what she said it sounds like Mystique is working with Weapon X."
Xavier shook his head "this news is very unsettling Logan, if they start genetically enhancing our enemies we won't stand a chance. I also have reason to believe they allowed Storm to leave because they had already operated something major in her."
I clenched my fist remembering the stitches on her stomach. They could have done anything to her, at least we know her powers are still working because of the severe storm around their hideout while she was there. I sat down against the wall while Professor Xavier pondered the possibility of enhanced mutant enemies. Usually I would have already assembled a group to destroy the facility, but I don't want to go there and have all those memories of Ro hurt shoved in my face. If I went the people who would be needed for questioned would be killed.
Hank opened the door of the examination room "she's going to be alright, we stitched up all her cuts and we found two broken ribs so she is wearing a brace on her stomach. She's asleep but you are welcome to come in now."
I got up and walked into the too white room and sat in a chair next to her bed. She looked much better now that they had cleaned the blood off her. I reached out and pulled back a stray strand of wet hair. She didn't even flinch. The only thing proving Ro wasn't dead was the faint beating of the heart monitor in the corner.
After an hour the room was filled with flowers and get well soon cards. I called the local florist to deliver a giant vase of blue flowers to the room so I wouldn't have to leave her. Tons of people have visited but not many stayed that long because of having to teach students. I pictured her waking up and smiling in relief.
I could still smell blood and I panicked thinking a wound had reopened but then I realized it was me. My shirt was covered in Ro's blood.
Not wanting her to see me filthy I went to my room, showered, and changed clothes.
When I got close to the examination room I started smelling a strangers scent. I ran in the room but the only person there was Ro, my blue flowers were sitting on her nightstand. It must have been the lingering scent of the flower delivery man. Ro still hadn't moved but the heartbeat on the monitor was sounding normal.
Hank came in the room holding another syringe "her earlier dose has worn off and she needs to be connected to an IV."
I nodded but griped her hand when the needle pierced her. Remy walked in and set down a vase of lilies by the wall and instead of leaving he sat down in a chair next to me.
Remy looked at my hand in Ro's and gave me a questioning look.
I shrugged "she needs a friend to protect her and comfort her."
Remy smiled "I don't know... that sounds more like something a boyfriend would do for a girlfriend."
I growled "well you don't know everything bub, so stop actin' like a know-it-all."
Remy held his hands up in surrender while using his I-know-i'm-right smirk "ok, I have to go, tell Stormy Remy said get well soon." He walked out and I started to think about what Remy had said, did I have feelings for Ro?
"Hey Logan, It's time for dinner" Hank said as he packed up his medical supplies.
I looked at Ro's thin form "she went without food for a few days, I think I can survive missin' supper." Hank nodded and walked out. The room looked so much bigger without Hank taking up half the space. Suddenly I felt my hand being squeezed by Ro's petite hand.
I pressed my communicator "Hank, Ro's responding get back here now!"
A minute later Hank entered carrying a tray of meatloaf. He set his food to the side and walked up to the bed.
"She's squeezin' my hand, does that mean she'll wake up soon?" I asked in an overly hopeful tone.
Hank nodded "she could wake up any minute." I squeezed her hand back to see if she would respond.
A minute later Xavier wheeled himself in and ended up next to me. We all looked at Ro waiting for her to respond. Her eyes started to twitch and as if on reflex I leaned closer to see if her eyes would open. Ro's head turned to the side and after a few seconds her blue eyes opened.
