I looked down at Ro to see if she was serious.  She looked back up at me. From the way she was staring at me, I knew she was serious.

"Not gonna happen Darlin'," I said as I ran her back to the mansion. "We'll figure somethin' else out because I'm NOT gonna let you die." She was so brave to suggest ending her own life to keep everyone else safe.

'I've got news for you Darlin', there's no way you're gonna die,' I thought.  She rested her head on my chest.

"What other options do we have Logan? They're going to use me to kill everyone," she said sadly. "How will we stop them?"

I shook my head, " I don't know... We'll figure somethin' out Darlin. Do you know where the Director is?"

"No, I black out whenever they're in control," she said sadly. "He has to be somewhere nearby so he could use his controls."

"Controls?" I asked curiously. "What do you mean controls?"

Ro nodded, "he has a program on his wristband that controls everyone."

An armband? If we can reach the director and break his armband, all the brainwashed mutants could be freed. 'But how will we be able to get that close to him?' I wondered as I ran Ro back to Xavier. An idea took shape when I set Ro down in the courtyard.

I knew what I had to do, so I started walking back into the damaged mansion. "Where are you going Logan?" Ro asked curiously as she stood up.

"The holding cell," I replied as I went through the front door. The hallways were empty and silent. It was as if a major battle wasn't raging outside. As I weaved through the coridors, I thought about how I could convince Mystique to help us.

When I reached her cell' she was lying on the floor looking up at the celing. "What do you want?" she asked grumpilly.

"Your help," I stated. She instantly turned toward me and smirked.

"So, the big bad Wolverine is asking me for help?" she asked savoring the moment. "What could possibly be so bad that you're willing to come to me, swallow your pride, and ask for help."

I growled menincingly, "trust me, if it wasn't our only option, I wouldn't be askin'. We need you to get the Director's wristband." She looked at me curiously as I went on. "He's controllin' all the mutants with mind control and we need you to take it from him since he trusts you enough to let you get close to him."

"So you expect me to help because?" Mystique asked rudely.

"Because it's the right thing to do," Ro's voice answered. I spun around and saw her standing at the opened cell door. "It's not just random mutants out there fighting. You KNOW those mutants out there who are stuck fighting for something they don't believe in because they have no control over themselves." Ro walked toward her and touched her shoulder, "some of the people out there are your friends."

Mystique's smirk faultered, "since when do you care?"

"I care because even though you sometimes drift away from what's right, you're still a good mutant with a concious," Ro reasoned. "I know you care about what happens to other mutants Mystique. The Director's just using them as his own personal army."

"Okay." Mystique said after a minute of deliberation. "He knows I've been captured, so what should I say to make him believe you two didn't let me out?"

As I thought about all the possible ways she could escape, Ro spoke up. "Tell him the tornado made a big hole in your cell."

Mystique agreed and left to go find the Director. "It could take hours for Mystique to find him," I said to Ro. "We'll have to fight them off till she finds them." Even with Mystique helping, the odds were stacked against us. There are so many mutants fighting us. I don't know how we'll be able to fend off everyone, but they're depending on us to save them.
