Drifting Apart

*Reminder: Storm was taken again and Mystique is at the mansion pretending to be Storm*

Logan's P.O.V:

Xavier wheeled next to me after I finished telling him what I knew. He hadn't said anything the whole time I was talking, but I knew he was upset. Ro always looked at him like a father and would come to him for advice. Even though he never admitted it, I think he thought of her like a daughter too.

"So, what's the 'suprise' part Logan?" Xavier asked after a few seconds of silence.

I shook my head in frustration, "I don't know, the director wouldn't say. Even after I threatened his life, he didn't tell me."

Xavier was about to say something to me when a bloodcurtailing scream erupted from somewhere in the mansion. I bolted out of his office and ran as fast as I could toward the source of the scream because I knew exactly who was screaming. Every step I took felt too slow. I need to get to Ro NOW!

When I was halfway there, the scream suddenly stopped. A large pit formed in my stomach. The scream didn't gradually stop like it normally would. It just suddenly stopped. I picked up my speed and climbed over the lobby railings and jumped down a floor. My foot broke on impact, but healed a second later as I was running.

Once I made it to Ro's room, other mutants had their room doors opened and were looking at Ro's room door curiously. I ripped her door open and ran inside.

Ro was standing in the middle of her room with a shocked expression on her face. I walked over to where she was standing and wrapped my arms around her, "what happened Darlin'? I heard you screamin'... Are you alright?"

At first Ro was stiff in my arms, but she wrapped her arms around me a few seconds later, "I was attacked by Sabertooth. He tried to take me away again, but he teleported away when I started screaming."

I wrapped my arms around her tightly. Here I was promising to protect her and she was almost taken again! "I'm so sorry this happened Darlin', did he hurt you?"

Sabertooth's scent was very faint at first, but after a few seconds, I could tell he had definetly been here recently. The thought of him being in here with her made my blood boil.  

Ro shook her head, which caused her gorgeous white hair to graze my cheek. "He didn't hurt me."

I let out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding, "do you want me to stay in here with you so I can make sure they don't try and come back?" Sleeping on Ro's couch wouldn't be all that bad if it meant she'd be safe.

"It's fine, I don't think they'll try something like that again anyway," she said quickly as she pulled away from me. I knew she needed to be safe, but I didn't want to argue with her after all that she went through. Instead of protesting I nodded, said goodnight and closed the door behind me when I left the room.

Once I left, I walked to my room and got a pillow and blanket off my bed and then walked back to Ro's room door. I threw my pillow on the hallway floor and laid down on the floor.

After an hour of moving around to get comfortable, I finally fell asleep.

"Logan! Help!" Ro's angelic voice yelled from a distance. I jumped up from where I was laying and ran toward the sound. She was struggling against Sabertooth as he was pulling her towards him. Every step I took got me nowhere. No matter how fast I ran, I didn't move. All I could do was sit and watch as Ro tried in vain to fight him off.

It was like I was trapped in a glass box and I couldn't do anything to get myself out. I punched the air as hard as I could and pain shot up my entire arm.
