My Best Friends Sister

Chapter 6

--(Alex's POV)--

"Meghan is here!" Lauren yelled up the stairs to me. I rolled off my bed and opened my door.

"Hey Alex. Listen I know you don't want to hear this but damn Tobin looks good," Meghan smirked. She knew of my old feelings for Tobin and whenever she was around, she always made a point to make comments about her. Tobin has been coming over for the past month now, leaving me stuck in my room the whole time. I could go see her of course, but what she told Christen almost got me kicked off the team. I know what I did was bad, but that was low even for her. Tobin was apparently dating someone which made me want to avoid her even more.

"Nice one Klings," I replied, unamused. Which made her frown.

"Alex it's not my fault you were a blabber mouth. You messed up and instead of sulking about what happened, you should go talk to her," she tried to convince me. I considered this and shook my head.

"I already apologized. It's her turn to try to make it right," I replied. It's been months since we've spoken but I knew Tobin. She wouldn't take the first step unless she really wanted too and a part of me knew she would never talk to me again. Unless I made the first move. Walking to the door, I decided to be the bigger person.

"I thought you just said you weren't going to talk to her first?" Meghan asked, confused.

"I'm not. I'm just going to hang out with my sister while her friend just so happens to be there too," I said. Meghan rolled her eyes and followed me out of my room.

"Come on ref that was clearly a red card!" Tobin yelled at the tv. As we entered the living room, she either didn't notice our presence or didn't care. Lauren saw us approaching and raised her eyebrows.

"Hey tobs," Meghan said, winking at me. She sat next to Tobin, who nodded her head at her in greeting, and started eating from the bowl of chips.

"What are you doing down here Alex?" asked Lauren.

"Why can't I hang out with my favorite sister?" I asked innocently, sitting next to Lauren. She rolled her eyes at me and continued watching the game. We sat in silence for the rest of the game besides the occasional yells from Tobin. Seeing her up close again reminded me of how much I missed her. As memories of us practicing together and hanging out everyday in the summer came back to me, I realized my feelings never truly left.

"You know, you were always bad with staring," Tobin laughed at me.

I quickly averted my eyes to the tv, despite it being off.

"Aw she's blushing! Alex baby, you really are so cute," Meghan said while coming to me and sitting on my lap. Tobin frowned at this but the emotion quickly left her face after I looked at her. This gave me an idea.

"It was great hanging out with my favorite sister but we must be going back now," I said, making sure to grab Meghan's hand.

"Tell me I wasn't the only one who saw that jealousy on Tobin's face," Meghan said as soon as we entered my room.

"I saw it too and it gave me an idea. What if she still likes me. Likes Likes me," I knew this might be a far reach, but I had to try.

"But Tobin has a girlfriend though," Meghan pointed out.

"For now she has a girlfriend. If something were to happen and they split up however, that'd be pretty good for me," I replied.

"We aren't going to hurt little Moe right. She's so innocent but also my type," Meghan added in. Making up my mind, I knew we had to be careful with this plan.

"The only reason she'll be hurt is when this plan works. Now, we just have to break them up and it'll be good again," I decided. I knew it was technically bad what I was planning to do, but I needed Tobin. We planned what we would do over the next month in order to break up the pair and satisfied, we agreed to start tomorrow. The earlier the better, right?
