okay so for starters, if that word gives you chills and makes you nervous, you're like me. that word shouldn't have a negative impact on you. but, for many people it does. but read this clearly: if your eating disorder has caused you to be underweight, you need to gain weight in order to recover. Without proper body weight, your body will not function and you will die. Some of you would rather die than gain weight, and I was that way too. But, not all the weight is fat, in fact very little is. It's muscle, bone density, organs, water, blood, breast tissue (for biologically female people), even skin and hair. and for a while, your body while be in hyperactive metabolic mode, and burn everything you eat, so you'll gain little to no, maybe even lose weight while starting to eat, and once you're used to it, and put on enough to function, you can exercise again and gain muscle tone instead. It is traumatizing, even now I hate weight gain, very few people are proud, but it is better than dying, I promise. For the first year or two it doesn't seem to be, but it is. And if you're not fully grown, some of it is weight from getting taller as well. As awful as it seems, IT ISN'T THE END OF THE WORLD and remember YOU WILL BE OKAY❤️
