"If one more person talks, 5 laps around the whole school.", I said.

Nicki took some time off to get herself together and I've been dealing with all these kids by myself but it's only the freshman students cause they haven't had me before. I saw Crystal a couple days ago and she kept on asking to see Maria but I told her no. I don't want my babygirl confused.

"Hey Meek. Can we do something?"

"Nah. You guys came in loud and it took me like 15 minutes to get you guys quiet so you guys are sitting down for right now."

I watched him walk out the office and I put my phone down then all of a sudden I heard screaming.

"She's back!"

"Meek! Ms. Nicki is back.", John said.

"You guys said that two days ago and it wasn't true."

"I'm serious! Come on."

"If you lying I'm smacking you."

I got out my chair and walked out the office. I saw Nicki hugging the kids and I grinned. She walked towards me but their was distance between us.

"Look whose back. Give me a hug."

She smiled and hugged me. I hugged her back and walked back in the office.

"Aye. Y'all can get up but don't do no stupid shit."

"Meek!"

"What? They've been badasses all week. Should've gave them all detention."

"Why didn't you?"

"Cause I would rather be home instead of here and detention doesn't do shit."

I closed the door and sat in my chair.

"You look better than the last time I saw you.", I said.

"I really needed that break. India was at Trevor's house so I had the week to myself. I got a chance to do a lot around the house."

"I picked her Maria yesterday and she said that India was sad because she missed her mommy."

"Yeah. She was crying on the phone yesterday. She doesn't know I'm picking her up today."

"I know you probably don't see it but you are a single mom."

"I've technically been a single mom ever since she was 3. I buy everything she needs, Trey just watches her. If he can."

"We're not talking about that nigga. He's in Mars. Let's just pretend he is."

"I heard from Isabelle that you punched him. Is that true?"

"Yeah. He deserved it."

"Thank you."

"Now, is India coming to Maria birthday party tomorrow?"

"She's been bugging me about that this past week. That's all she talks about so I don't have a choice."

"You really don't but Maria wanted India to come over and spend the night."

"Would that be a problem?"

"Not at all. I mean what's the point if she's coming back tomorrow."

She smiled slightly and then started playing with her fingers.

"You got something on your mind. What's up?"
