Chapter 10
Aubrey's POV
Rushing up the stairs towards my apartment I began tugging off my scarf as my body thawed from it's frozen state due to the bitter winds outside. After a long day of classes all I want to do is slip under a warm blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a terrible cliche film. Digging into my bag I fetched out my keys and opened the door, happy to be home I shut the door after me.
"I'm home-" I stopped mid-sentence at the shocking sight before me
Hanging up my coat and scarf I shook my head just to make sure I was actually seeing this right. Sitting on the same couch watching a foreign movie that they probably didn't understand were Kelly and Alex. They were sitting only inches apart laughing at some red head who fell into a pond with her wedding dress one.
"Haha take that you home wrecker." Alex laughed
"You do know we're probably translating this wrong I mean neither of us actually understands Indian." Kelly said
Alex shrugged his shoulders "That's the fun part."
Placing my bag down on the counter I pulled off my boots and left them on the doormat. Walking into the kitchen I noticed the new fridge came in, it was exactly like the steel fridge they broke two days ago. Examining the outside I saw it was still in tact as was the kitchen. Scrunching my brows I wondered where the mess could be?
Looking around the apartment I saw everything was exactly the way it was when I left. No broken tables, books in place, the couches looked dry. My eyes darted up to the ceiling to see it also untouched. Where could it be?
Running across the room I stuck my head into Kelly's room and saw it was just as messy as always with her clothes thrown everywhere, her bed undone and a funky looking bowl with God knows what in it on her nightstand but all of that was normal.
"Hey Aubs what are you doing?" Kelly asked as I stepped out of her room
"Looking for the mess." I answered as I peeked in my room terrified to see the damage
But to my surprise my room was still neat as I left it. Not even a textbook out of place or a wrinkle on my bed.
"What mess?" I heard her ask
Reappearing I could see they were both confused by the puzzled expressions on their faces. Walking over to them I squinted my eyes wondering whether they were lying to me or not.
"Your both sitting together watching tv and not trying to kill the other so there had to be a fight before this." I said motioning between them "So where did you two settle your problem?"
Alex stared at me for a few seconds unblinkingly before he leaned back laughing as did Kelly. Narrowing my eyes at them I couldn't see what was so funny. I mean I know these two and wherever they clashed must look like a tornado went through it.
"We didn't fight Aubrey." Kelly said as she wiped her eyes of tears "Although I know why you think that."
"You didn't?" I asked my brows pulling together in confusion
Alex shook his head as his laughter died down. Looking between the two I sensed there was more. Last night they looked like they were going to rip each other apart and now hours later they're fine?
"But yesterday you two were at each others throat." I said still lost
"That's true but we talked after you left this morning and decided this mate thing is not worth ruining our friendship." Alex said as he spared a quick glance at Kelly who nodded in agreement
