Calum's P.O.V.

I smiled, grinning like an idiot, I must say, as I sat at the back seat of the cab.

I had my flight back home with my coach consent. I wanted to surprise the boys. And, most of all, my girlfriend. I didn't told them about it. Not even my mum, but I'm sure there will be a lot of explaining to do. But, it doesn't matter. I really wanna play music with the boys.

After giving the driver my fare, I hopped off the cab and took my bags. Guessing that they are probably at Ashton's house, practicing, I decided to head there first.

I knocked on the front door and within a minute, Harry opened it.

"Calum!" He cheerfully greeted.

"Hey, buddy," I beamed. "Are they here?"

"No, they are at the airport," he said. "With Michelle and Dey."

"Airport?" I repeated, confused and curious all at the same time.

"Yes," he nodded. "My brother brought a lot of things with him and mommy said he'll be gone for a long time."

"No way," I muttered. "Thanks, Harry!"

"Where are you going?" He asked as I ran to the sidewalk, just in time as a cab was passing by.

"I'm going to catch them," I called, waving at him as I opened the cab door.

I sat in and told the driver to head to the airport.

I need to catch them.

I pulled out my phone and dialed the person I would have to face sooner or later. And, I guess, sooner means now.

It rung twice until it was answered.

"Hello," her familiar voice said.

I gulped. Here goes.

"Hi, mum!" I said. "I miss you."

She chuckled. "My sweet sweet little boy. I know you wanna tell me something. Spill it out."

"Okay," I said slowly, confused. Doe she know? "I... how will I say this... I'm actually home but... I... I'm going with the boys, mum, and I know you don't want me to but this is something that I really want. I---"

"You can go," she simply said.

"--- really wanna," I stopped, cutting myself off. Did I heard her right? "Wait, did you just said? You mean..."

"You can go with them," she repeated. "Michelle and Ashton came the other day to tell me. But, I wanna ask you something. Is this what you really want?"

I smiled. "Yes. It is."

"Then you go chase your dreams," she said. "I'm proud of you. Mali is. Your dad is. Michelle is. Ashton and Luke are. And Michael."

"Thanks, mum," I said happily.

"I'm guessing you are on your way back to the airport, ei?" She giggled.

"Yeah," I shrugged. "I wanna drop by there and say this in person. Probably get some things too. But Ashton's brother told me they are there already. Don't wanna miss it."

"Well, be careful, son," she said. "You boys stick together, okay?"

"We will," I said, smiling. We stopped, as we were caught on a little traffic. "I gotta go, mum. I'll call you later. Love you."

"Love you, too," she said.

And we hang up.

"Can you make a shortcut?" I asked the driver.

"We passed the shortcut a little back there," he shook his head, looking at me thru the rear view mirror. "Can't do a U-turn with all the cars in here."

I sighed.

I need to catch them. I looked from my left to right, front to back, just as I spotted a familiar face.

He wasn't wearing his helmet so he was noticeable.

Just in time, I thought.

A/N: My updating is so bad. But please bare with me. Just really busy.

Also, I've said this before, this is book two of My Best Friend's Lover which is a short story of Calum. If you are reading on Watt pad, and you've read it already, you'd know who Michelle is. But if you're reading from Instagram, Michelle was changed into Y/N. Either way, Michelle is @michellespersonal on Instagram. If ever you're wondering what she looks like.

So, I'm guessing you have the idea what's going to happen next! I'm updating, probably tomorrow. x
