Chapter 13 - Mission Get Out Alive

Getting off of the plane we could already hear the muffled screaming. The sound was starting to scare me, there had to be a lot of people to make that much noise. I looked over to Harry who was the image of calm, walking beside Alex and texting.

"Aren't you nervous? You were practically shitting yourself before when there were no fans but now you're calm?" I was so confused and fidgety, the screams were getting louder and I was feeling apprehensive.

"Security is meeting us at the end of the hall." Harry said simply without looking up from his phone.

"And are they really going to make an effect on a huge mass of girls?" I asked skeptically, falling into step beside him.

"We've been through way worse." Niall said, appearing by my side.

We were stopped at the end of the terminal by huge security guards, some of which I recognized from the 5SOS gig. Derek and Alex looked a little worried and were eyeing up the huge bodyguards, but Niall and Harry were perfectly relaxed, greeting them all by name and asking how they've been. I didn't quite know what to do with myself, so I hung back with Derek and Alex.

When Harry noticed us standing awkwardly in a group he introduced us to all of the security team by name. As he was listing the names and we were shaking hands I wondered how Harry could remember all of these people. If you asked me to name any of them after the introductions I probably couldn't. The team consisted of tall, built men with serious expressions and black outfits - it was hard to even tell them apart let alone pair a name with a face. I thought I caught the names Paul and Greg but I wasn't sure.

Suddenly all the chatter came to a stop around us and everyone turned to one of the members of security, presumably the one in charge. The stern looking man started explaining how we were going to get through the crowd and I made sure to listen intently.

"We are all going to take up a defensive position to get out of the building. There is a straight line from the exit doors to the limo. There is more security by the limo that will help you in and once everyone is loaded we will go to the hotel." Niall and Harry seemed to tune out after these instructions; they had probably heard all this before. My band, if anything became more intent on what this man was saying, not going to miss a second of instruction. "If anyone grabs your arm or leg twist it, and if you can't notify someone quickly. If you feel yourself falling grab someone in front of you - in fact it's best if you're holding onto someone. The most important thing is to keep moving, don't stop to talk to anyone. Order doesn't matter as long as you are going in the right direction."

The man continued to give instructions and I was amazed at the depth their security went to. It was kid of scary that all this precaution and security was to keep the boys safe from people who claimed to love them.

"Are we clear?" The man said loudly over the whole group. There was a chorus of 'Clear' before we were moving, and fast. I grabbed the closest boy to keep up, who happened to be Derek. Security surrounded us in a V formation and we were through the doors.

Leaving the building was like entering a new world, full of screams and flashing. Everyone seemed so tall and overbearing; I was completely surrounded by a mass of moving bodies. I started to feel claustrophobic and had to look up for a second just to reassure myself I could still see the sky. It was so loud that I wanted to cover my ears, but I was too scared of letting go of Derek to do so. Everything seemed to be happening so quickly but I found we were only moving forward in small steps. I knew, although I couldn't see them, that some of the security was pushing apart the crowd in front to create a path.

Suddenly, someone screamed in my ear shocking me. Before I could stop myself I put my hands on my ears in pain and turned back to the source of the sound. I came face to face with a girl, who looked about my age. The girl was wearing bright neon clothes and she was bawling her eyes out. The bawling and screaming girl scared me and I turned around the grab Derek.
