Chapter 14 – Moving In

Thankfully I wasn’t in the hotel room alone for long.

“Emily!” Louis’s distinctive high voice echoed through the room with the sound of my door crashing open. I pushed myself up to sit on the side of my bed to greet him.

“You’re a lifesaver.” I said spotting my suitcase in his hands. I reached out to grab my bag but he pulled it away.

“Where’s my hug?” He raised an eyebrow at me, holding the bag just out of my reach. I pretended to groan in annoyance before I got up and gave him a huge hug.

“I missed you so much that I forgot how short you were.” I said pulling away from the hug smirking.

“Are you really going to start that again?” He asked putting his hands on his hips. I had spent a lot of time calling him short when we skyped, laughing at the fact he couldn’t prove he was taller over the internet. When his band had flown out to Canada for the video awards and hung out with us, the first thing he did was grab me and make Harry tell who was taller. We both knew he was taller, but it was still fun to joke about.

“I really don’t know what you’re talking about.” I said with my best innocent smile, crossing my legs in front of me on the bed.

“Still troublesome eh?” He asked and my smile widened. “That’s it.”

I let out a scream as I was suddenly air-born. I hit something hard and saw my bed getting farther away.

“Louis put me down!” I said pounding at his back with my fists. He had thrown me over his shoulder and was now ignoring me as he kept walking down the hall.

“Hey Liam!” Louis greeted, I couldn’t loosen Louis’s grip on me to turn around to see. I huffed in annoyance, giving up on pounding on Louis’s back –it’s not like it was doing anything anyway.

“Hey, where are you going?” Liam’s voice replied easily, like Louis carrying a person down the hall against their will was normal.

“Just to the pool.” Louis replied and my jaw fell open.

“No you aren’t! Louis put me down!” I shouted starting to pound on Louis’s back again. “I swear I’ll kill you Tomlinson.”

“We should get going we have a meet and greet soon.” Liam said, both ignoring my protests.

“Yeah Louis you don’t have time, better go!” I said triumphantly crossing my arms and trying to wiggle down.

“Don’t worry Ems; we have plenty of time to stop by the pool!” Harry said walking towards us from behind Louis. I glared at him for a moment before Louis turned towards him, spinning me to face Liam.

“Help me.” I mouthed at Liam to which he just rolled his eyes and petted my head.

“You’re no help.” I muttered at him and he shrugged his shoulder with a smile.

“What the heck are you guys doing?” A new voice joined the conversation on Harry’s side so I couldn’t see.

“Nothing.” Harry and Louis chorused and I saw Liam roll his eyes again amusedly.

“I think we should get going, eh.” Zayn continued, “You should probably put Ems down before she throws up on you.”

Louis made a disgusted sound before putting me down. I tried to glare at him but his sheepish smile reminded me of a little boy and I couldn’t stay mad at him. Louis must have seen my expression soften because he let out a big grin, he knew I couldn’t be mad at him. Being mad at Louis was like hating a puppy.

“Zayn is my new favorite member of your band.” I announced pretending to still be upset.

“Don’t lie you love us!” Harry said grabbing me in a hug. I felt others join the hug with mumbled agreements.

“You guys are idiots, who happen to be crushing me.” I said, face pressed into someone’s arm.

“That’s the goal love!” I heard Louis’ voice come from somewhere to the left in the hug. The hug lasted for a couple more seconds before Paul arrived and made the boys separate.

I made my escape as soon as they let go of me and slipped down the hall into my room.

I closed my door behind me and let out a sigh of relief.

My relief only lasted a second; there were people in my room. It sounded like they were rummaging through the room. I had a pretty good idea of who it would be, but I held my phone firmly in my hand just in case. I crept down the hall to peer into my room.

The sight I saw made my jaw drop.

“What the hell have you guys done? I was literally gone 5 minutes.”  The room was a mess, clothes littered everything. There were shirts draped across the TV, pants covering the bed I think I even saw a pair of underwear on the lamp. Alex was looking up at me innocently from where he was laying on the farthest bed. Derek was rummaging through a suitcase and throwing clothes behind him.

“I’m trying to find my dog t-shirt.” Derek said still not looking up or ceasing to toss clothes out of the suitcase behind him.

“That’s because you put it in your carry on not your suitcase dimwit.” I said and realization dawned on his face. Before Derek could say anything I spoke again, “What are you guys doing trashing my room?”

“We’re moving in!” Derek announced rummaging through his carryon and pulling out the shirt with a big smile.

“Don’t you have your own hotel room?” I asked leaning against the wall.

“Well yeah, but what’s the fun in that?” Alex said swinging his legs over the bed so he was sitting up straight. “I called this bed by the way.”

The next few days were spent in seemingly endless rehearsals and meetings. The first day the boys of One Direction joined us, but couldn’t for the rest of the time as they were booked for doing promotion.

If I didn’t have Derek and Alex to joke around with I probably would have ripped out my hair, the rehearsals were repetitive and the meetings were long and extensive. It was amazing how much planning went into each show. We were prepped on every possible situation, most I hadn’t even thought of. We now knew what to do if a spectator came on stage to attack us, if the lights went out and more scenarios’s that the management had determined detrimental to know how to react to. I was already a little bit weary of mobs and the fact that we had to be prepped on what to do if someone came to attack us was terrifying. We were assured that all of these measures were just precaution, but it was still scary. If it came to it, what use would the security team be against thousands of teens?

Each night I found myself crashing into bed. Alex and Derek stayed in my room the whole time, which I was grateful for. Being alone in a hotel room in an unfamiliar country terrified me. The first two nights they took turns on the bed and the chair but after that ended up just sharing the bed. The first couple days of rehearsal made it almost seem like we could take our time but as we got closer to the opening show we realized that wasn’t the case. After our first show we would be getting right on the bus and from then on we would be travelling for two months non-stop.

A/N: Sorry it’s a bit short and unedited I'm tired, I'm just leading up to the next few chapters :)  Thanks to everyone who is reading, I loved the comments on the other chapter! .xx
