Chapter Two - 'The Actor'

Katniss POV

The doors shut behind me and I walk down another set of stairs, at the bottom I see about 9 other people.

I reach the bottom of the stairs and one of them comes forward and introduces himself to me, I've got to admit, he's attractive and I recognise him almost instantly.

"Hi I'm Finnick Odair!" He says as he hugs me, "Katniss Everdeen" I say back to him, smiling.

I greet the others and learn the names of the ones I don't know.

I'm the 10th celebrity in here so far. The nine others are, Glimmer, Cato, Delly, Johanna, Annie, Finnick, Clove, Haymitch and Cinna.

Cinna I knew already, he's like a older brother to me, when I greet him, he pulls me in for a big hug and shouts to everyone, "This here is my little sister! We have partied harder than any two people ever have!"

I'm quickly taken a back by this as that partying was the reason I was fired, "Oh no that was in the past!" I state.

"Sorry honey if your wanting a drink you're out of luck! Everything's boxed up" Glimmer, I think, says to me.

"Everything?" I repeat.

"Yup everything, but I can get you a glass of water if you want?"

"That would be perfect, thanks!" I say back to her.

About ten minutes go by of me introducing myself to people and learning about them and what makes them famous when the door opens again.

The first thing i spot is those bright blue eyes, they scan the room before coming on me, he smiles and starts to jog down the stairs, his ashy blonde hair flopping about the place, he greets me first as I'm the closest to the stairs.

"Peeta" he says as he leans in for a hug, "I'm Katniss" I reply back smiling.

He says hi to the others and Glimmer gets him a glass of water.

Another ten minutes go by until another house mate comes through the doors, she greets me and says her name is Cressida.

Just when she finishes introducing herself, she seems very nice and I can picture myself becoming fast friends with her, Big Brothers voice comes through the speakers, "Could housemates Katniss and Peeta step forward"

Me and Peeta both step forward as we await the instructions, "You two are being sent to the Box, you will remain there until Big Brother says other wise, living on gruel. Please enter the box to your left."

The others start to protest but me and Peeta just make our way to the opening, we step inside and see two small boxes sitting in the middle of a room with only one light and no windows, wow, what a welcome to the Celebrity Big Brother house.

We both sit down and Peeta starts talking, "So you're a singer right?" He asks.

"Yeah and you're an actor right?" I say back jokingly.

He nods, "People say I'm the actor" Peeta replies with a smirk.

Great I'm stuck in here with a boy my boyfriend told me to avoid. What a great start to this month. I can't get it out of my mind that there's cameras everywhere, watching my every move, hearing everything I say, and it'll all be shown to the entire country.

"So are you single?" Peeta asks me after a couple minutes of silence, I'm taken aback at his forwardness.

"Eh no I'm not, I have a boyfriend, whom I love very much" I snap back.

He starts laughing, "Well that sounded rehearsed"

Just as I'm about to reply a voice comes through the speakers, "This is Big Brother, Katniss and Peeta, you will now have to pick two of your fellow celebrities suitcases to be put in storage and they will not get them back until Big Brother decides. You will have 30 seconds to make your choice."

"What the fuck?" I say out loud, "We've just met these people!"

"Well you have," Peeta cuts in, "I know some of them, Finnick for example, we can put his case in storage"

"Hmmm Finnick doesn't seem like the type of person that-"

"Housemates can I have the name of the first celebrity you have chosen"

"Finnick" Peeta states, oh god, I can say goodbye to being friends with Finnick.

"Housemates can I have the name of the second celebrity you have chosen"

"I know Haymitch," I start, "he barely changes his clothes anyway"

This makes Peeta give out a little laugh, "We have picked Haymitch."

"Thank you housemates." Big Brother finishes.

"Oh god, I barely know anyone here and I've probably already made everyone hate me!"

"Hey, don't say that, it's okay, no one will be mad at you, and I've only known you for around 20 minutes but I already know, no one could be capable of hating you" Peeta replies, looking at me with concern in his eyes.

"Oh don't worry you'll get sick of me soon" I say back, tears threatening as I remember what Gals told me.

"No I won't, why are you thinking that? You are a beautiful girl, on the outside definitely," he says with a smile on his face, "and from what I can tell so far, the inside too."

This makes me let out a smile and a little laugh, "Thank you Peeta" I say looking him in the eyes.

He smiles back and beings his hand to my cheek, I pull back and look at him strangely, he moves forward and beings his hand to my cheek again.

His takes his thumb and wipes my tears away, "A beautiful girl should never cry" Peeta whispers.

I laugh, showing of my smile. I start to feel butterflies in my stomach, I've never felt butterflies before, not even with Gale.

Peeta seems like he genuinely cares about me, which is a little weird considering we just met. Oh my god Gale! I quickly pull away from Peetas hand and sit with my arms crossed and my legs tucked up to my chest.

I need to be carefully though because I'm wearing a quite revealing dress, it's low cut and shows off a bit of cleavage, it's black and has lots of different fabrics and it goes down to my angles, I have my hair styled in loose, bouncy curls with the front pieces pinned back.

I look to my right and study Peeta's appearance, he is very hot but I have to keep my thoughts to myself.

His eyes meet mine but I look down, burying my head and curling myself into a tight ball.

So Katniss and Peeta met!

And Katniss finds Peeta attractive 😏

But she has Gale 😒
