CHAPTER THREE

Zendaya woke up to the amazing smell of the pancakes that filled her whole room. She slowly opened her eyes just to be welcomed by sun. Yeah New York was more a gloomy city or that’s what at least she heard but since she got here she saw a lot of sun and she liked it because it remind her about home, place she missed.

She got out of the bed lazily walking towards the door and straight downstair to the kitchen where all the smells were calling her. Pancakes were her favourite thing for breakfast, she also didn’t mind eggs or waffles well let’s say she loved to eat and looking at her slim body you would never guess that.

"Goodmorning sweetie." Her aunt welcomed her with a big smile on her face and pan in her hand flipping pancake to the other side. “How was your first sleep?" She took a glass of orange juice and placed it on the table.

Zendaya sat on the chair and yawned lightly. “It’s been good, bed is really comfortable." She took a sip of her juice while observing her aunt.

"I’m glad to hear that." She smiled at her niece again. “I kinda had to rush to by things for your room but Val was very helpful." She turned the fire off as she was done with pancakes.

Marissa turned around and took plate with panackes putting it on the table, doing the same with plates and some jam and other things you could put in pancake.

"Val?" Zendaya asked surprised. She had no idea he was helping with her new bedroom which was really cosy and nice, bed, closet and some desk maybe nothing special but she liked it that way.

"Yeah the one you met yesterday." Marissa smiled at Zendaya knowingly.

They were now both at the table eating breakfast that Marissa prepared.

"Oh that’s right, this guy." Zendaya looked at her plate. She didn’t want to let her aunt know that whenver she thought about him let alone talked it made her somehow nervous.

Marissa laughed, she already knew that but decided not to push Zendaya. It was still all new for her and she was supposed to feel like at home here and burn the bridges that she built for the past couple months.

"He seems nice." Zendaya said casually.

"He is very nice, very handsome, very talented and a great guy overall." Marissa took the bite of her pancake while looking at her niece.

Zendaya lift her head up. “Are you in love with him?" Her aunt seemed really inot the guy and she wouldn’t be surprised. Even if Zendaya had like one convo with him she knew all that things as well.

Marissa chocked on the piece of pancake she had in her mouth. “Are you crazy Daya?" She made big eyes at her. “No I am not, I love him as family because that’s who we are in the dance studio but it’s not that kind of love." She had to drink a little bit of juice she had so she would stop caughing.

Zendaya shurrged innocently. “I could see you two together."

Marissa smiled warmly. “Nah it’s not going to happen." She had a feeling that her niece got really intrested in young russian man and somehow she didn’t mind at all. “So are you coming to the dance studio with me today too? You did a great job with Olivia yesterday."

"Thank you, Val was a great help actually." It was the first time Zendaya smiled at mentioning his name. It was even more than that, it was first time she smiled at anything or anyone else then her aunt and kids and maybe some puppies. She realized that really quickly and soon her smile faded away.

"I saw that." Marissa said narrowing her eyebrows at Zendaya.

"You saw what?" Zendaya played dumb as she didn’t know what her aunt was talking about.
