In the Dark Chapter 9

Aly's POV

I woke up to an earsplitting ringing in my ears. I picked up my alarm clock and threw it at the floor. I got up took some Advil and drank some water then sat down on my bed. My friends were past out on the floor I was the only one that made it to the bed. I heard the door close and I knew Katy was off to school. I took a quick shower then changed into a black lace high necked halter top and some blue skinny jeans. I put on slippers and flopped back onto my bed. " Alycia", Jeremy said walking in without warning. " Ever heard of knocking", I said pulling my hair out of the braid. " Why didn't you tell me you weren't going to be home last night", he demanded. " I didn't realize I had to call in to have a life what's the big deal anyways", I said annoyed by his tone. " There were rogues inside the boundary Alycia", he said seriously. " Why didn't you just call my cellphone or get Peter to call Snow's", I said grabbing his cellphone showing him my number. " You said you didn't like to use your cellphone", he said automatically. " Except at night and when I'm away from home", I reminded him. " Next time just tell me alright and you're grounded", he said sitting down on the edge of the bed.

" Grounded", I said eyes narrowed.

" Until we're sure there's no rogues or other packs around I need to keep a close eye on you", he insisted. " I can protect myself", I said arms crossed.

" Aly please", he said worried. I knew I didn't have a choice males were really protective of their mates especially after they'd mated. I didn't particularly mind spending a few weeks with him but I had to act like he had no effect on me. " Fine but it's kidnapping", I said sternly, " let Peter and Duncan in".

" Alycia", Duncan said walking in. Duncan was a strange guy and I didn't know his first name everyone just called him Duncan. " Hey Aly is Snow-", Peter said spotting her. " She had Spritz Up", I explained, " I had a Chocoholic". " Best wake everyone up", Duncan said then started shaking Mel. He touched her skin and she reached up and slapped him hard across the face. " God why are guys all so freaking immature a zapper really", she said angrily then went into the bathroom and slammed the door. " Why did you use a zapper she's got a short enough temper as it is", Terry said sitting up.

" I don't own a zapper", Duncan said annoyed. " Then wha-", I started to say then put two and two together, " damn it". " I'm tired", Snow said sitting up. " You're getting kidnapped", Peter said. " Oh goody", she said then looked at the bathroom door, " what's wrong with Mel?" " She got zapped", I said knocking on the door. " What's the password?", I heard Mel say. " Pixy", I said automatically. " Correct", she said then opened the door and let me in.

" He doesn't own a zapper Mel", I said quietly. " Yes he does I felt the freaking thing zap me", she said annoyed. " His hands were empty Mel", I said honestly. " What did he do then just rub his feet on the carpet outside", she asked confused. " Nope", I said shaking my head. " No", she said figuring my message out, " there's not a chance in hell". " Mel it's not impossible besides it could be worse", I said quietly. " He thinks I'm a freak why and how is possible that he's my mate", she hissed. " He's not as bad as he seems", I assured her. " Why have you been spending time with him", she said pissed off. I gave her a look and she blushed and laughed a little. " Act casual and ignore him", I said cheerfully. " Do you mean me casual or normal girl casual?", she asked unsure. " You casual", I smiled. " Game on", she said and we high fived.

We stepped out of the bathroom and everyone looked up. " I'm going home to get changed", Mel said then headed for the door. " Do you want a ride?", Duncan asked automatically. " I didn't know you owned a car", she said crossing her arms. " I've had it since I got my license do you want a ride?", he said calmly. " Why do you want to give me a ride?", Mel asked curiously. " I don't know you're the alpha's mate's best friend and it's a fairly long walk and there's rogues around looking for innocent bystanders", he said really quickly. Mel looked over at me looking puzzled and on the verge of laughter.
