Justin shifted into his huge wolf, scraping the skin on Katy's leg in th process. Seeing this, his anger subsided and worry filled him. He quickly returned to his human form falling on his knees next to his mate.
"No, Katy. Please wake up." He whispered when the girl closed her eyes. Justin sprung up and put on some sweatpants and a shirt that were lying around the room. The first thing he thought of doing was to touch her wounded skin in hopes of healing her.
He tried but failed to close Katy's open skin. Then he remembered that mates could only help their mates pain go away, not heal them, especially since his own mate was human. He then grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his girl's injured leg. There were four open wounds on Katy's calf and one of them reached the back of her thigh.
Justin picked her up and carried her to the car, driving to the nearest hospital. He didn't know how he would explain what happened to the young girl to the hospital stuff but that was the least of his worries at the moment.
--
They arrived at the hospital and Justin carried his mate out of the car and into the hospital yelling, "Please help her. She got injured and she's losing a lot of blood. Please."
Two nurses rushed over to them with a gurney. They placed Katy on it and rushed to a room informing the adult male of forms he needed to fill in for the girl.
--
While Katy was sleeping, Justin kept beating himself up for what he had done. His mate was hurt because of him. He had promised himself that he would never hurt her or do anything that would harm her but the promise was broken because here they were. In a hospital room.
The doctor had managed to save Katy before she lost too much blood. She had gotten her wounds stitched and bandaged and could be discharged the following day if nothing went wrong.
It was said that the cuts were not too deep and would be completely healed after three to four weeks but there would still be scars left on her skin.
Katy was now just sleeping as a result of the anaesthetic that she was given. The news of Katy's recovery were good but also bad in Justin's point of view. Good because she would be fine and be able to go home and bad because she would be left with scars.
Justin did not mind the scars. She would truly still look beautiful with or without the scars but he was unsure of how Katy would react and feel. He was afraid that she would hate him for what he did.
The man was pulled out of his many thoughts when the door was pushed open and in walked Katy's father.
"Justin, what happened to my baby girl? Is she alright?" Justin did not know how to answer her mate's father. He felt like he should tell the truth but doing so would reveal a secret that was not his to share to the world.
"We were from the beach. I had a glass bottel that broke without me realising and I accidentally cut her with it. I'm so sorry, Mr Smith. I really did not mean for any of this to happen. I already paid for the hospital charges so you don't have to worry about that." He managed to lie.
Mr Smith just simply narrowed his eyes at him before hugging his sleeping daughter.
"I'm going to get something to eat. I think Katy will be hungry, too, when she wakes up. Would you like something, sir?" The young man nervously stood from his seat, allowing the older one to take a spot next to the sixteen year old girl.
Mr Smith only shook his head, taking his daughter's hand in his. Justin sighed and left the room. He drove to the nearest McDonald's, knowing that hospital food was not the best. Mr Silverstone only wanted the best for his beautiful mate. He went to the drive thru, ordered and collected his food.
During his drive to the hospital, Justin received a call from someone he never thought he'd talk to again. His ex-fiancé, Genevieve. He felt too tired and knew that if he did not answer, Genevieve would keep bugging her.
"What?" He answered the call.
"Is that how you answer a call from the most important woman in your life?" Justin could tell that the woman was smirking by the tone of her voice.
He laughed, humourlessly. "Genevieve, I'm not in the mood for your nonsense so just tell me why you called or I'm hanging up."
"I need money," she spoke.
"I do not understand why you are telling me this. We are not together anymore, fortunately. So why are you asking me for money?" He was slightly confused but knowing Genevieve, she could do anything for money.
"Oh, so it is true. Now that you found yourself a new girl, you think you're better than everyone. And what is she? Like twelve or something. You could get arrested for that, you know?" She smugly uttered.
"Are you threatening me? You know better than to do that."
"All I'm saying is that what you're doing is wrong, Justin. The girl is a minor. And I need money." Genevieve stressed.
"I'm not going to give you money, Genevieve." Justin parked the car as he had reached the hospital.
"How is South Africa? I heard that your little girlfriend is in the hospital. Oh, Justin Justin Justin. You bad man, what did you do to the poor girl? She's getting discharged tomorrow, right? We wouldn't want her to go back to the hospital now, would we?" Gen smirked, knowing that she had hit a nerve when Justin's breathing became harsh.
"I promise you, Genevieve. If you lay a hand on her, you will not see the light of day." He growled.
The woman laughed, "Oh Justin. You know I wouldn't hurt a fly. But someone else would."
"How much do you want?" He asked.
"Five hundred thousand dollars," she answered feeling victorious.
"What? Hell no," he shook his head even though no one could see him.
"Poor Katy Smith. The girl had such a bright future ahead of her." She went on, taunting the man.
"Fine. I'll get you the money. But if I ever hear from you again, I will surely terminate you." He sighed, getting out of the car and walking to his mate's hospital room.
"Good. You know my banking details. Don't disappoint me, Justin. She is a really good kid." And with that, the evil woman hung up the phone.
