Chapter 14

"Good morni-"

A voice broke through the air making Justin and I freeze.

Justin

"So, what you are telling me is that you two have been doing things that couples do together while no one was watching." He asked.

I nodded along with Katy who was seated next to me.

"I guess the whole sharing of a bedroom thing worsened the situation, huh?" Another question was thrown my way.

"You could say that," I nodded.

"Well, I personally don't like you that much but I think you too look very cute together. So I won't tell anybody your secret," he finished.

"Really, Will? Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Katy jumped up on one leg, almost falling, to hug William which resulted in ne letting out a low growl.

Katy turned the two of them around so she was facing ne and William was facing the other way.

She raised her brows and mouthed 'shut up'.

"Thank you so much, Will. And I promise I will tell my dad when the time is right." Katy said as she pulled away from William but still remained in his embrace. 

"Tell me what?" Mr Smith asked as he entered.

"Uhm. Dad. Hi," Katy replied, sounding nervous. Her dad walked up to her and her a side hug since she was still holding onto William. I wanted so badly to rip his hand that laid on MY mates back, off. But I couldn't. I would make Katy mad and she probably wouldn't talk to me.

"So honey, what were you going to tell me?" Mr Smith asked, removing William's hand from Katy's body. I mentally thanked him for that.

It seemed like Katy was not going to answer any time soon so William took the matter in his own hands. "We were going to tell you that I asked Katy to be my girlfriend and she said yes."

My eyes widened at his statement. "What?!" I yelled, gaining attention from everybody in the room. My eyes then landed on a terrified-looking Katy and my hard gaze immediately softened.

Mr Smith glanced at me once more and then shook William's hand. "You have always been a good and respectful boy so I approve."

"Thank you so much, Mr Smith. I won't disappoint you." William said, smiling from ear to ear while I, on the other hand, was fighting to stay in control. He then hugged a very still Katy while she glared at him.

At that moment, I was going to explode so I left the room, went to grab my car keys and drove to the woods I revealed my wolf to Katy.

Katy

My heart ached as I watched my mate exit the house.

"Well, that was... Weird." My father's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. "Would you guys like to go out for breakfast?" He asked.

"No, uhm. Justin made breakfast and we've already eaten, plus,  Tumi's mom is going to take us to get our hair done soon." I said, sighing. "Accompany me to go wake Tumi up?" I directed at Will and started my way to the room.

"Why would you say that to my dad? You know how him and I feel about each other and yet, you tell my dad that you and I are together?! " I yelled. William answered with a lane shrug which infuriated me even more.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? When did you become such a jerk?" I asked. 

"When did I become such a jerk? Well, when you left me when I needed you most. That's when I became a 'jerk'." William yelled back.

"Oh my goodness! So this is what it's about? I had no other choice, Will. My dad was moving to the other side of the world. What was I supposed to do? Where was I supposed to go? You know that he's the only family I have left. And your time of need?! William, you got expelled from school, you didn't lose your mother so please. What happened to you was all in your hands. I always told you to stop smoking weed and coming to school with alcohol so don't be expecting me to throw you a pity party." I finished and turned to face Tumi with a dumbfounded look on her face.

"What just happened?" She asked, looking very adorable and I couldn't help but to chuckle. "Your mom is going to come get us soon. Hurry up and get dressed." I told her then made my way to the patio.

I sat on the ground and pulled out my phone. I unlocked it to be met by a picture of Justin and I on the beach. It was taken on the day of the incident. I dialled my mates number and listened to it ring. It rang and rang and rang with no answer. I tried again receiving the same results.

I sighed as I bent my good leg and buried my head in my arms.

"Kat?" A voice spoke making me lift my head to look at it's owner. "Hhm?" I hummed. "Mom's here." Tumi said as she helped me up.

My mom and Tumi's mom had been best friends since even before we were born. So we've always called each other's moms 'mom'. Her mom was my mom and mine was hers. It was always like that and it still us even after my mom has passed away.

Tumi put her arm around my shoulder as we walked and kept whispering, "It's okay." And that's why she's my best friend. Without even knowing the whole story, she still comforts me.

"Hey, ma." I said as I met her standing next to her car. "Hey, honey! It's been such a long time. How have you been, sweetie? I'm so sorry I couldn't visit you in hospital. Work could only let me go after today." Tina (mom's name) said, hugging me.

"I've been good, mostly and it's okay." I hugged her back tightly then pulled away as we all got into the car. "William left about five minutes ago. What happened between the two of you anyway?" Tumi asked.

"I'll tell you when we get to the salon."
