Episode 5: And So The Horror Begins

After a long while Kaori fell asleep on Rin's shoulder. Rin picked her up and lay her on her bed upstairs. Kaori's house had two floors and a flat roof you could walk on. Kaori reguarly climbed up there since she liked the view. Rin pulled the covers over Kaori and left her house.

He could not lock the doors since he would be leaving Kaori inside without her keys but he only lived across the road and would watch her house every now and then to make sure she would be alright. Kazumi noticed Rin. She was making her way back home after shopping at the supermarket and decided to pay Rin a little hello.

"Rin!" Kazumi chirped loudly.

"Hey Kazumi" Rin replied smiling gently.

A few metre's away in Kaori's house someone was inside but they hadn't used the door otherwise Rin would've saw them they didn't use anything visible to get in so it brought the question how did they get in. A creak on the floorboards brought Kaori to her wake. She raised her head up and rubbed her eye and looked around the room. "Rin?" She called. With no answer she decided to investigate.

She pushed the covers off and stood up and looked around for the intruder or friend that could be in her house. She stepped towards her bedroom door and opened it and stood in the doorway looking for the person. She was then shocked by a sudden hand over her mouth. She kicked at the figure who threw her to the ground. Kaori tried to scream but the hand was back over her mouth once more. It was a man she knew for sure because of his strength and stature but his face was shadowed so she could not see it. He pressed her down on the floor and pulled his hand away for a second to take a glove off his hand and that gave Kaori all the time she needed. She screamed as loud as she could and Rin and Kazumi heard.

"Kaori!" Rin worried running towards her house. Kazumi dropped her bags and ran behind Rin. Rin flung Kaori's door open and ran upstairs and threw her attacker off of her. Kaori ran to Rin and clutched to him.

The man stood up half his face shown but it was burned and rotting and was unrecognizable who was this man? He ran at the two and they tackled out the way. They both quickly got up and ran as fast as they could. They both manged to get onto the roof and shut the door thinking they were safe.

Kazumi was down stairs looking for the two and that's when it kicked in.She grabbed onto the railing of the stairs but it turned a strange colour and suddenly exploded in front of her eyes, Kazumi was flung out the house and was fine except from a few splinters around her body. She got up and fought through the pain and grabbed onto the doorway of Kaori's house and it happened again the frame turned a strange colour and exploded in her hands. Kazumi was thrown back once more. This time she was to sore to get up. She looked at her hands and felt like almost crying. Why was everything she was touching exploding.

She took another look at her hands and then heard screams from the roof. She sat up and looked. Flames were covering the bottom floor and the building shuddered and creaked as its supports began to burn away. "Kazumi!" Hanna squealed running over to her.

"Don't touch me!" Kazumi panicked backing away.

"Huh? Wait, What happened!? Isn't that Kaori's house?" Hanna asked.

"Yeah....Wait how did you know something was going on?" Kazumi asked.

"I just felt it, Like I knew she was in trouble...." Hanna muttered.

"You too?" West called from behind them. Beside him was Dio. They all looked up at the roof.

"I hope she's ok" Dio worried.

Kaori screamed as the door was flung open by the burned stranger. She let go off Rin and looked to her hand hoping those 'abilities' she had earlier would kick in and she could throw him off the building. The man walked closer and the two teenagers walked back until they met the ledge of the building.

".....End of the the road" The sinister, crisp yet familiar voice growled at them. In his hands appeared a dark ball full of fire and death. Kaori knew exactly what to do she would hit two birds with one stone. She didn't want to let another friend die again and she wanted to die so badly. The man screamed as he hurled the ball at the two.

"....I'm Sorry" Kaori whispered looking at Rin and pushing him to the floor. Before Rin could realise what she was doing it was too late. The ball had hit her and she was sent flying of the roof and towards the flames.

"No!" Rin screamed running to the ledge and watching Kaori fall. He held his arm out and saw Kaori smile at him. He then put all power had into his mind and everything stopped. the only people who were aware and moving was the stranger and the six students. Even so Kaori was frozen in mid-air. Given her defying powers a chance to kick in and form a black sheet made of darkness to form and destroy the flames beneath her cushioning her fall and saving her life. Time soon returned within a couple of moments and Kaori landed on the sheet and it soon disappeared letting her lie on the warm pavement. Hanna and Dio ran to her.

"The entrance is clear now, Im going to help Rin!" West shouted.

"West!" Dio yelled but West already ran in battling the flames. He climbed up the stairs and they collapsed behind him. He ran up to the door to the roof and flung it open and entered the roof. He saw only Rin who was looking down at Kaori.

"Where'd he go?" West asked.

Rin turned and looked frantically "He's gone..."
